Emily's baking blog. Documenting the advancing domestication of me…. Inspired by Maltby Cafe. Measure 2 tbs. of buttermilk into a small dish. Let it sit in a draft-free space to come to room temperature or at least 75 degrees F. Heat 1 cup of heavy (whipping) cream over very low heat to body temperature. Do not to exceed 100 degrees F. I had a dream that I was dating tyler florance, and it was amazing… mainly because he introduced me to these scones:. Blueberry Scones with Lemon Glaze. 2 cups all-purpose flour. 5 tablespoons unsalted butter. Cold, cut in chunks. 1 cup heavy cream, plus more for brushing the scones. 1 cup fresh blueberries. 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice. 2 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted. 1 lemon, zest finely grated.

Reason: they were super sour… So, my plan of attack is to make Ricotta Orange Pound Cake with an Orange Glaze/Supremes. Hopefully the powdered sugar will counterbalance the tart oranges. 1 1/2 cups cake flour. 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. 1 teaspoon kosher salt. 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, room temperature, plus more to grease the baking pan. 1 1/2 cups whole milk ricotta cheese.

I can't believe how lazy/inept Firefighters are at loading dishes. they won't pull out the drawer so everything is tossed in the first 6" of the rack or in the first silverware slot.
