A Hoosier in China: Ciao, China!
http://hoosierinchina.blogspot.com/2010/07/ciao-china.html
A Hoosier in China. Thursday, July 1, 2010. Oh, China. Here we are at our last day together. This morning I only had a few hours to get things together. We're leaving at Noon for the airport, so whatever I did today had to be close. So what does one do? I took the subway back to the hotel and finished packing, and am now killing time until it is time to go to the airport. This trip has been fantastic and a dream come true, but I am EXHAUSTED. I cannot wait to get home! So, for now, goodbye from China!

A Hoosier in China: June 2010
http://hoosierinchina.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
A Hoosier in China. Sunday, June 27, 2010. I really am not kidding about moving here. So today was another wonderful day in Xi'an. We started the day off at the Shaanxi Province History Museum. It is an extremely nice museum, considered to be one of the best museums in China - in fact, I have heard that it is one of the four best museums in the country! It truly was a great place, except for the multitude of Chinese tourists in the place! Location: Titan Times Hotel, Xi'an. Saturday, June 26, 2010. This ...

A Hoosier in China: Beijing, Baby!
http://hoosierinchina.blogspot.com/2010/07/beijing-baby.html
A Hoosier in China. Thursday, July 1, 2010. Wednesday, June 30. We finally got to the Great Wall. The day was hazy, which made for some bad photography, but I was at the Great Wall! I climbed as high as I could, breaking out in a full sweat on the way with my knees begging for mercy, but I climbed that wall! Our next stop was - you guessed it - Factory Tour #2! Would kick my rear end if I bought anything there, so I sat back and minded my own business. What a scam. It was pretty upsetting to be w...Our l...

A Hoosier in China: The Beijing Boogie
http://hoosierinchina.blogspot.com/2010/07/beijing-boogie.html
A Hoosier in China. Thursday, July 1, 2010. Last Day in Beijing. Today I got to sleep in! I got up at 8:00, and had a nice lazy breakfast before heading out to the Pearl Market. One of our tour leaders, Kimberly, had lived in China for several years, and she knew a jewelry dealer in the Pearl Market where we could get good prices on some jewelry. And, we did! I got some gorgeous pieces, and paid very little for it. The Pearl Market was crazy though! But, it was definitely authentic! Tonight's blog is bei...

A Hoosier in China: March 2010
http://hoosierinchina.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
A Hoosier in China. Wednesday, March 24, 2010. I hurriedly put together an application packet, and sent it off to Bloomington with a wish and a prayer that I would receive good news. I would know by the end of February! February came, and with it came jangled nerves and a burnign desire to find out something - anything - about my staus for the trip. An e-mail arrived.and I waited to open it. I was afraid that I didn't get it! I am so excited about this trip! Here is what I know at this point! National Co...

A Hoosier in China: Shopping in Suzhou
http://hoosierinchina.blogspot.com/2010/06/shopping-in-suzhou.html
A Hoosier in China. Monday, June 21, 2010. Our guide Jessica then took us to a silk factory. We learned all kinds of things about silk production from her, from the growth of the silk worm to the cocoon, to the eating of the pupa (believed to promote strength in men and beauty in women). I even volunteered to eat a silk worm pupa! Let me tell you, this was the most amazing Pizza Hut I have ever been in. This Pizza Hut served steak, escargot, slushies.it was off the charts. I got this really g...Maybe it ...
