THIS SITE IS A WORK RETROSPECTIVE. CLICK HERE FOR MY NEW WEBSITE. Friday, July 31, 2009. Onto the hanging pieces, and light cascades all around the darkened room. The frames sway and move around, viewers can also move through them too, watching the shadows and light dance on the walls, and on each other. I think its partly immersive, partly too random for my liking. Maybe it reminds me of moving through memories? I want so badly to be able to create the illusion of three-dimensionality from static images.

When it comes to movies I can be a very emotional person, and lately that means quite a few tears. The Capulet Crypt; possibly the most beautiful place I've never been. 1996 film by Baz Luhrmann. I saw the new film (500) days of Summer. Over the weekend- an anti-romantic comedy which has that bittersweet way about it that I hate to love. With an epic soundtrack too.

All work licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 NZ License. Thursday, July 30, 2009. Saiman Chow 'Summer Of Love'. Some amazingly executed drawings by illustrator Saiman Chow. The soft shading and pastel colours offset the fetishic nature of it and it appears more romantised, bittersweet.
