From the backseat of an autorickshaw
Photo(s) of the Day. The Quest for Dosa in Delhi. A Guide to Indian Trains. Monday, May 4, 2015. Is "social enterprise" just a buzzword? I wrote the following post back in October but never ended up publishing it. I'm not sure why I forgot about it! Updated notes in []. Yesterday [25 October 2014]. I went to Cambodia's annual Social Enterprise Conference. Sothea was excited for the conference. I'm pretty sure she's going to start her own business some day. On the left, the against side: PSE Institute.

My practice pivots around narrative and the articulation of space through architecture. As the architecture of a space is dictated by functionality, I am interested in the forms and structures used in architecture that articulate the purpose, history and, as a result, the narrative of the space. 8211; Born 25 Jan 1991, Nottingham. 8211; A Levels in Fine Art and English Literature, Rushcliffe School, Nottingham, 2009. 8211; Foundation Degree in Art and Design, South Nottingham College, Nottingham, 2010.

Emily in Denmark
The adventures of a young girl from Arkansas living in Denmark. Saturday, June 18, 2011. Euro Tour and summer break. Once again, my life has been so insanely busy that I've completely forgotten to update this blog in over a month! So much has happened since I last wrote I'm actually having difficulty remembering everything. Thereafter we drove towards Prague, capitol of the Czech Republic. Along the way we stopped at Theresienstadt concentration camp and learned about Nazi camps throughout Europe....

Emily in Africa
Tuesday, September 20, 2011. And you thought I was done. To be honest, I did too! By the way. it's been a really LONG time since I had the "drive" to write creatively, and even longer since I played the submission and publication game. but if you really want to know and ask nicely, I'll share some of my previously published work with you.), and writing for the newsletter, and speaking. My mind about my trip and my experiences. Of treating lightly and using hope. Signing off for now. This appears to be a ...

emilyined554atmu | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. End of Week 2. July 22, 2011. This diversity of experience was great! I feel like we all got some new perspectives and ideas from each other, and I think being stuck together for two weeks straight made the discussions flow more openly. I’m very glad that our class had this dynamic; had it been the opposite these two weeks would have crept by quite slowly. Thank you so much Steve! My lesson plan is forthcoming! paper trail-n.written evidence of one's activities
Paper trail-n.written evidence of one's activities. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Strange friends, friendly strangers. To continue where I left off:. After saying goodbye to Olaf and Kat, who were pushing on to Grahamstown the same night, I moved my things into the “PEACE” room and got ready for bed. In her slow and deliberate English, she told me kindly but firmly that people in her culture believe in helping strangers who are lost or in need of something. 8220;Do you know the word. 8221; she asked me.

Egypt as I see it | In case you wanted the perspective of an American raised in Morocco studying abroad in Cairo
The Adventure in Photos. Egypt as I see it. In case you wanted the perspective of an American raised in Morocco studying abroad in Cairo. She cooked me fish: my encounter with the Muslim Brotherhood. September 9, 2013. I just read this article. We’ve seen the threat that the Muslim Brotherhood has posed around the world, Bachmann said. We stand against this great evil. We are not for them. We remember who caused 9/11 in America. We remember who it was who killed 3,000 brave Americans. I have been outrage...

Emily in El Salvador
Emily in El Salvador. Permaculture Institute of El Salvador. Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Well it’s been quite a while since my last blog post and I sincerely apologize! I have no idea where these last two months went…it’s a whirlwind of change. First getting back to El Salvador and being surprised about how homesick I was! I started spending more nights sleeping on the Demonstration Site (aka the land) which was great for getting to know my co-workers! Anna and I are the Madrinas of one of the chicks, name...
