Reading and Writing at 7000': April 2013
http://emilyjweaver.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Reading and Writing at 7000'. A Librarian's Reading and Writing Log. Monday, April 15, 2013. I've been reading a lot lately, but posting very little. Holy Crap I read the 1400 page version. Around the World in 80 Days. My first foray into Jules Verne. William Deitrich - Indiana Jones in the time of Napoleon. Veronica Roth - Another dystopian YA book. I'm still making my way through thick books on Paris and French history. This week I'm finishing up Eiffel's Tower. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I love, love...

Reading and Writing at 7000'. A Librarian's Reading and Writing Log. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. So I've decided to pretend to be a writer. I have decided that I am going to write a lot of really shitty stories. It kind of takes the pressure off of having to write good stories when I know that all I have to do is write shitty ones. Eventually, like any writer, those shitty stories will get better and better and might even turn into something that other people might want to read. I love, love, loved thi...
Reading and Writing at 7000': September 2013
http://emilyjweaver.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Reading and Writing at 7000'. A Librarian's Reading and Writing Log. Monday, September 30, 2013. I actually read 3 brand new books this month. Empty Mansions: The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American. By Bill Dedman released Sept. 10. Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital. By Sheri Fink also released Sept 10. By Jason Mott released August 27. I loved this. It had all the elements of a great read: history, wealth, big houses, and a recluse.

Reading and Writing at 7000'. A Librarian's Reading and Writing Log. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. It's a huge subject and I'm starting to dive in. I've read 10 books this month and will write about them all here, but not today. I'm listening to a new found gem. Whisper of a Thrill" by the City of Prague Philharmonic from the movie. If you have never seen. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. Naked in a Pile of Books. I am a librarian a...

Reading and Writing at 7000'. A Librarian's Reading and Writing Log. Tuesday, February 19, 2013. This was an awesome post on Book Riot today. When Authors Attack Libraries:. As a librarian I am supposed to support libraries in every way. BUT this man makes a point. Yes, the whole point of the Book Riot post was to make fun of the guy arguing against libraries, but still he does have a point. Entertainment is never free and it could very well be an out-dated way to look at books. What I found so different...

Life at 7000 ft: October 2013
http://joymle.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Life at 7000 ft. Day to day life in a family of 5 living somewhere between the mountains of the Grand Canyon and the life we left behind in Los Angeles. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Just a quick little post to say that I'm not feeling it today. Yesterday I was too busy to write and today I'm having printer issues and dirty floor issues. These must be resolved before I can dally with writing an impressive post. I'm waiting for them to drip. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Monday, October 21, 2013. This week this...

Life at 7000 ft. Day to day life in a family of 5 living somewhere between the mountains of the Grand Canyon and the life we left behind in Los Angeles. Monday, September 30, 2013. Are You Feeling It? I shaved my son's afro off yesterday. It felt so good. He looks like a young upstanding boy scout now instead of a homeless punk who doesn't own a hairbrush or have a mother that loves him. Can you say "School photo retake"? It's weird I tell ya. Who is that tall man walking around my house? I'm going to ge...

Alright Y’all I’m finally finished make all of the Innkeeper Keys! Today I am reaching out to all of you to ask for support for My Brother-in-law and his wife. My husband and I have been truly blessed with being able to conceive our own child and we want Brian and Kristin to be able to experience the love of a child just as we have. Please find it in your hearts to pray for these two. They have had 2 of their adoptions fall through leading to heart breaks and many tears. May the LORD now show you kindnes...

Inked by a left-handed writer. May 22, 2015 · 5:55 pm. Please don’t call me professor. Last August I heard the phrase, Professor Vernon for the first time. Terrifying. Professor implies the person assuming the title possesses a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in a specific field. The word filled my head with images of individuals I respected, people of wisdom. Thirty years of life and one day on the job had not earned me the respect or the title. Out of the mouths of students:. Anyone doing a...

Emily J. Musing. FaceValue in a Gallery: Artist Statement. October 29, 2015. October 29, 2015. Today #FaceValue went up in the gallery. I am very happy with how it turned out. I think it met and exceeded my expectations. Below are some photos (still to come) and my artist statement for the piece. An Instagram account not following everyone, with no previous photos, and no followers uploads an image. Who likes it? How I value those images is very different to their number of Instagram likes. What was i thinking? Things I’ve Learned. January 8, 2015. 8212; emilyjwilson @ 7:16 pm. Well, it’s been 7 1/2 weeks since my sweet boy entered the world. It’s been a wild ride…like really wild. My hormones and sleep deprivation have caused my emotions to be a roller coaster and the whole “being a mom thing” is ridiculously hard. In the process though I’ve learned some important lessons and learning more each day. Here’s some of the learning that’s taken place thus far…. I don’t have to feel guilty...
