Reading Post 7: Story Telling in Novel and Life – emilyoralhistories

https://emilyoralhistories.wordpress.com/2015/04/13/reading-post-7-story-telling-in-novel-and-life

April 13, 2015. April 13, 2015. Reading Post 7: Story Telling in Novel and Life. And oral interviews points to the way humans make meaning from their past and work to make and tell truths. The process of story telling to aid discovery and truth telling takes a similar path in people from many experiences and times and shows a common trajectory of aging, becoming wiser, and putting the past and present in context. January 29, 2015. January 30, 2015. One thought on “ Reflection Post 1. February 6, 2015 at 5:13 pm. I’m so happy to have you in class and to get a chance to hear more from you this semester. The twin engines of interest and empathy your carry can fuel a tremendous amount of learning. As important, I feel they are the key to a more inclusive and democratic society. I know they will be assets for us all as we grapple with some of these challenges together. Thanks for sharing! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Semester Reflection – emilyoralhistories

https://emilyoralhistories.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/semester-reflection

May 13, 2015. Overall this semester I grew more comfortable conducting and analyzing interviews. I can better appreciate histories whenever they come from and the social dynamics that construct that experience. I will take these lessons and theories into all future work and strive to hear the voices I might otherwise miss to build a broad quilt of historical and present experiences. Week 11 | LATINA/O ORAL HISTORIES

https://oralhistorias.wordpress.com/2015/04/03/week-11

Spring 2015 Pomona College. April 3, 2015. This week we become something of a “book club” as we begin reading the novel. By Alfredo Véa. While the work is fiction, Véa is a Vietnam veteran and his protagonist is as well. We’ll also use our class time to make some final decisions about the format of our “digital presentations.”. Be well until then! WEEK 13 →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
