For my Digital Photography 262 Course. October 3, 2012. Since we are talking about portraiture, and I have finally really narrowed down what I want to do for my portfolio series in class, I think I am ready to share these photos that I took a few weeks ago. Be forewarned, they are a little risque and are probably NSFW. More on my portfolio series and how these images relate to it tomorrow. (Click on an image to open the gallery! Photography: The Kids in the Yard
http://lilydarger.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-kids-in-yard.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2012. The Kids in the Yard. I'm pairing these two photographs because they have the common thread of interesting nature texture. Ambrose in the top one, leaning away like that, reminds me of that Wyeth painting. Christine? I can't remember. Do you know what I'm talking about? There's a girl in a field and maybe she can't walk. Beatrice looks loke she doens't want to be photographed. Which is always the perfect faces for me. Posted by Halliley Knights Nichols. The Kids in the Yard.

Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Double Portrait of James at Night. Shutter speed : 6 seconds. Aperture : 3.5 (as wide as this lens allows). Focal length : 18. Posted by Halliley Knights Nichols. I've been looking around for a good lens to replace my broken one. Boy, are the expensive! So, I removed it. Now the lens magically works again. What do you think this thing is? What was it doing in there? I am certain this piece is not superfluous. Anyway, now back to wide angle shots. Tuesday, September 25, 2012.

Monday, November 19, 2012. Our class took a field trip to Glendale Shoals, which used to be a mill and is now a conservation center. In these first images, I was interested in textures, natural decay and the marks we leave behind. Posted by Halliley Knights Nichols. November 20, 2012 at 3:17 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Photography: Collodion
http://lilydarger.blogspot.com/2012/11/collodion.html
Saturday, November 24, 2012. I've been fascinated by this collection. Of photographs that I came across the other day. This artist uses the collodion process. The photos are so surreal in mood. I love the tonal quality. To me they seem eccentric and I'm sure they are all posed, but there's a sense of spontaneity that takes the edge off. Do you like them? I want to be in all of them. I want to visit that world and explore it. Posted by Halliley Knights Nichols. November 26, 2012 at 5:42 PM.

Friday, August 31, 2012. Hi, guys. Hopefully, some of you are my classmates. If so, you better leave a comment or I might not comment on your blog! I've been posting a folder of each day's shots on flickr (but not Tuesdays and Thursdays so far because of class). There is a link up top. I can see my photo views, you know, how many people look at each one. It turns out the creeps on flickr (and maybe some of you) like bathing baby boys and Dune references. I guess that makes me creepy, too. 8211;except it ...
