On the Road to Beautiful: October 2010
http://emilypreston.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
On the Road to Beautiful. Life, ministry, and whatever I encounter along the path to who God created me to be. What I Get to Call Work. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Brittany, Part 1. In my most recent prayer letter I promised Brittany's story. If you've been with me for a while, this will be a refresher. If you haven't heard this before, buckle-up! Brittany's silence spoke loudly to me as we sat in our small group discussion Friday night. This past winter I attended a retreat.and made a life-altering d...

On the Road to Beautiful. Life, ministry, and whatever I encounter along the path to who God created me to be. What I Get to Call Work. Sunday, April 17, 2011. Proudly flying the flag of the 20th century. Recently the cable guy came by my door trying to sell me any and all services that his company has to offer that I don't currently have. I see that you have internet with us. How is it working for you? Do you have a satellite dish? What do you use for tv? I have an antenna.". Yeah, it's free. Brittany C...

On the Road to Beautiful. Life, ministry, and whatever I encounter along the path to who God created me to be. What I Get to Call Work. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Ten Birds a Leaping. Family Christmas dinners are fun. And when there's a grandma who refuses to get hearing aids, conversation often walks that fine line between exasperating and hilarious. Like this one:. Lords a leaping," I tell her. Does anyone remember what my true love gave to me on the tenth day of Christmas? Oh, yes, yes! Just li'l ole...
On the Road to Beautiful: Heart Surgery
http://emilypreston.blogspot.com/2011/06/heart-surgery.html
On the Road to Beautiful. Life, ministry, and whatever I encounter along the path to who God created me to be. What I Get to Call Work. Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Recent months are some of the more painful in my short-ish life. It wasn't one particular circumstance, more like back to back to back to back to back situations where the floor seemed to drop out from beneath me. There's a passage in the book of Hebrews that I really love. The first part of it goes like this:. Hebrews 12:1 (ESV, emphasis mine).
On the Road to Beautiful: Cultivating Gratitude

On the Road to Beautiful. Life, ministry, and whatever I encounter along the path to who God created me to be. What I Get to Call Work. Tuesday, July 05, 2011. Recently a friend and mentor of mine shared with me about a book she is reading called One Thousand Gifts. The author, recognizing her ungrateful heart and attitude toward life (boy, did that description pluck a convicting heart string! Set out to create a list of one thousand things for which she was grateful. One Thousand. So I imagine it will b...

Adventures in Auburn: Lessons in Humility
http://wilsonnco.blogspot.com/2012/02/lessons-in-humility.html
Living and Loving as a Twenty-Something. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Our second day at the carepoint was probably one of the hottest days I think I've ever experienced. But that was not the biggest thing to take away from the day. What an amazing experience to serve these kids in that way. Several moments during that time I found tears in my eyes. It was incredible to find that the washing of feet, no matter where they are, still have the power to show love to others. Please pray for members of our tea...
Adventures in Auburn: July 2011
http://wilsonnco.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Living and Loving as a Twenty-Something. Monday, July 25, 2011. After a blissful culinary adventure, we ventured to the dollar movie theater not far from our house. The new version of Jane Eyre was playing and we'd been wanting to see it- so off to the movies we went. While the movie itself was a little bit disappointing, it was nice to take the time to hang out and go out with my awesome roommate. When we got back, I was able to finish these corkboard states, which I saw on the bright life. There was an...

The Lovejoys: November 2010
http://lovejoysknittygritty.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 29, 2010. If you're like me, the whole Christmas card thing is kind of an ordeal. I always procrastinate on taking our family picture, then take forever looking for the cutest card with the best price and before I know it, it's January and no one has heard from us yet! But not this year. This year I took that bull by the horns and my cards are DONE! Ok, not in the mail or anything but printed at least. And the best part? I spent a whopping $28 for 200 photo cards! Ya, turkeys right?
Adventures in Auburn: October 2011
http://wilsonnco.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Living and Loving as a Twenty-Something. Sunday, October 23, 2011. Phoenix was not what I was expecting. It was much more quiet, and afforded much more personal time than I had anticipated. Sessions I attended were well done, but that is not the case for many of the sessions attended by my peers - some were awkward and poorly done, while others were very thought-provoking and had us talking for hours afterward. Moral of the story: Phoenix is bad, NCHC is good. :). Friday, October 21, 2011. Phoenix - Day 2.

We leave at 8am, drive 5 hours, and then get orientated to what we're about to do for the next week and a half. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Topic, Topic, Topic.

One of my favorite poems is "Sonnet 43" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. It's short, but the first lines of the poem are famous: "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways." (to read the sonnet in its beautiful entirety, click here. Today marks 101 days until the wedding. I love doing top 10 lists, but I couldn't narrow it down to that few! 101 His desire for adventure.
