Actualmente, debido a diversos problemas como el de las becas y créditos dados por el Mineduc y las universidades y el nuevo sistema de requintilización. Y la polémica en torno a esto, se han ido diversas universidades a lo largo del país a tomas o paros indefinidos y así, el día jueves 9 de mayo, Periodismo en la PUCV también decidió (con 93 votos a favor) irse a paro indefinido.
