Emily's Brain Works. Trying to prove my old brain is sill working…. At The Fulton Theater in Lancaster, PA (What a wonderful send-up of Broadway and a great nod to the movie. Lots of fun! Phantom of the Opera. At Pequea Valley High School, performed by the high school (an ambitious project for high-schoolers, which they pulled off beautifully). Bye, Bye Birdie. At Pequea Valley Intermediate School. The kids did a great job with some complicated sing and dance numbers. Great fun! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Emily's Brain Works. Trying to prove my old brain is sill working…. 8212; didn’t know what to expect but certainly didn’t expect to fall in love with this post-apocalyptic tale of black holes, wormholes, and science versus love. I’m still not a big Matthew McConaughey fan, though. 8212; enjoyed it more than the book, probably because of the superb acting and the fact I knew what was going to happen. Bye, Bye, Birdie. 8212; had to watch the movie after seeing the middle school performance. What a cast!

Reflections on 21st Century Feminism. December 8, 2014. Catching Up, Part 5. Posted by everythinginbetween under Biology. Five years ago, several of us were blogging prolifically and regularly – about books and writing and food and feminism and our lives generally and specifically and it felt like we had. To say that we created this now-dormant blog in order to write about women and women’s issues. It was a great idea but lost momentum because, well, because of life. The brilliant Litlove. 8230;] is that...

She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain Louisa May Alcott. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. I’ve not been drawn to doomsday literature nor dystopian-themed books or movies. Although I know many are considered to be nothing short of masterpieces ( 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Brave New World. To name a few - none of which I have read), my exposure to that genre has been limited, nearly non-existent. Station Eleven. By Emily St. John Mandel may be my breakthrough book. Mine eyes are open. She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain Louisa May Alcott. Monday, January 26, 2015. As Lewis Buzbee writes in The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop. Fast-forward to 2015, however, and it's easy to see things have changed. Not everyone among the general readership desires the "quiet sensuality" of the printed book. In his 2008 Afterword, he admits there's no doubt about it - it's a bad time to be a bookseller. Yes, I loved this little volume. What book-luster would not? Friday, January 16, 2015.

She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain Louisa May Alcott. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. The Shadow Of The Wind. Bea says that the art of reading is slowly dying, that it’s an intimate ritual, that a book is a mirror that offers us only what we already carry inside us, that when we read, we do it with all our heart and mind, and great readers are becoming more scarce by the day – The Shadow of The Wind by Carlos Luis Zafon. When was the last time you were completely and utterly lost in a book?

She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain Louisa May Alcott. Friday, June 26, 2015. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. About ten years ago I belonged to one of those big "book clubs." You know the ones. They send you a brochure every month. You can. On the shelf, had heard the buzz, and with my blessing took it with him when he left. I never thought of it again. Emily's British :: About Emily
A trained chef, I moved to Los Angeles in 2010, having run gastro pubs for 10 years in London. Inspired by exploring LA’s farmers markets and the amazing fresh produce that is available in California, the idea of Emily’s British began. I have been making a variety of chutneys, marmalades and jams for sale at markets across the city. I have also experimented in making traditional English vanilla fudge, which makes for a great gift.
