Emily's Chile Adventures

Friday, January 6, 2012. Wow, it has really been a long time since I updated my blog… oops… Where to start… I will highlight some of the important events that have passed and activities that I have done. This is Chile’s 4th of July and it’s a BIG celebration! For my birthday I invited friends over for “onces” and cake. Here in Chile they generally have onces instead of a full dinner. This usually consists of bread (good and lots of it! The next stop on our trip was Easter Island! January 20th I will be l...

Emily's Chile Adventures: July 2011

http://emilyschileadventures.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 9, 2011. The other day I just realized that half of 2011 has already passed! When did that happen? Seriously I can’t believe it’s already July! Since it’s been a long time since updating I will just highlight some bigger events in the past month (plus some)…. Good thing we eventually figured it out or we may have missed our bus back to Costa Rica! I played a set today against the coach and almost beat him! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The other day I just realized that half of 2011 ha.

Emily's Chile Adventures: October 2010

http://emilyschileadventures.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 29, 2010. A decision has been made! Since I last updated I’ve gone back to Santiago for a week but now I’m back in Vilches. Our return to Santiago couldn’t have been much more eventful… When we got to Judy’s house (where we stayed before) we found it completely dark and were without keys (who knew we were suppose to take a set with us! It was very exciting to see up close and personal. I have to say it looked a lot smaller than I imagined. Well, that all for now folks! A very exciting thi...

Emily's Chile Adventures: August 2010

http://emilyschileadventures.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 23, 2010. Turn your heart inside out and dare to make a difference". In one week I will be leaving to start my 15 month volunteer commitment in Chile through the Humility of Mary Volunteer Service (the title of this blog comes from the "motto" of the volunteer program). It's hard to believe that summer is already over but I am very excited to start this next adventure! Skype or facebook would be the best modes of communication. I will update with an address once I have one :).

Emily's Chile Adventures: November 2010

http://emilyschileadventures.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 22, 2010. A weekend at the beach other adventures. This week the library got some of its new books so we started processing those :D. It’s exciting to see the brand new books because most of them are really interesting and are books that were chosen with the women in mind (natural healing, feminist perspectives, women authors, etc). About 100 more books will be coming soon so we will be very busy! Other potential destinations include Brazil, Uruguay and Ecuador. Sunday, November 14, 2010.

Emily's Chile Adventures: September 2008

http://emilyschileadventures.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, September 27, 2008. Mountians: Andes, hiking, food, homework. Wow, it has been a VERY long time since I updated my blog. There has been lots going on, hence the lack of time to blog. I'll start where I left off in my last entry. It is fun but hard. I have never done gymnastics before so it is all very new. I guess it wasn't our lucky night. We went and hung out a little more at the fogata and a couple of the guys danced the cueca which some Chileans so that was entertaining. Waiting for our food.
