Discordia Concourse: Davie
http://discordiaconcourse.blogspot.com/2007/06/davie.html
Danyn's blog for Kasey's advanced poetry class. Ah, Formalism. So nice and comfy. Arguments structured like we’re used to, with examples like we’re used to, and in the kind of language we’ve finally learned to manage after all these years of school. Davie is a welcome break from all this crazy-talk poet-scribblin’ (especially after Zukofsky! 8220;Objective” syntax is another place Fenollosa fits, although not completely (Fenollosa is concerned with how the world enters the mind, while objective syn...

Discordia Concourse: Urine Well-Heeled
http://discordiaconcourse.blogspot.com/2007/05/urine-well-heeled.html
Danyn's blog for Kasey's advanced poetry class. A crocker that bucklin. You prognosticate by auk. In twirly it referring. Of an inorganic the to manhole. His sequitur is report. To compound on Rockwell. That shark on wattage. The first hint at what my chapbook might have in it. There are parts i like about this poem and parts i don't. i like lines like "you prognosticate by auk" and "He on pygmy" (i had to look up 'auk' good word! May 7, 2007 at 10:57 AM. It's a good place to find stock art.

the Whales' Bones: No really, thank you for the surgery!
http://thewhalesbones.blogspot.com/2007/06/no-really-thank-you-for-surgery.html
No really, thank you for the surgery! The real interesting sentence theory comes when Silliman starts ‘arguing’. The binary discourse, differentiating what poetry could be to linguistics and its relationship to fiction made sense. Poetry is wordplay and balances on the razor’s edge of image and symbology. So take that idea and combine it with what Silliman shared about the perception of literature as written. What can be said of poetry that is read aloud, or read along with? In relation to Sarrasine.

the Whales' Bones: "Just an unnecessary name of something! What does a comma do?"
http://thewhalesbones.blogspot.com/2007/05/just-unnecessary-name-of-something-what.html
Just an unnecessary name of something! What does a comma do? And ol’ Steiny rolls in her grave. I enjoyed what she had to say about slang, being the progressive state of nouns and by people creating slang they keep language alive. Nas la mean? Booyah. Another nugget of gold was “…yet poetry being poetry nouns are nouns.” All that effort to denounce nouns and now there’s no way of getting around them. So what is it? Lunch Time For Bears: Entertainment for People 10/10/10 RECAP
http://lunchtimeforbears.blogspot.com/2010/10/entertainment-for-people-101010-recap.html
Monday, October 11, 2010. Entertainment for People 10/10/10 RECAP. Last night's "Entertainment For People" was awesome, and if you missed it, you kind of suck. But here's a recap and a few vids to tide you over until the next one. Host/poet/musician Derrick Brown. Kept everyone on their toes with (sometimes) ad libbed lyrics, poems, (one of which included the lines "I don't care if you made that dress, hippie / I'll shred it") and his generally hilarious wit. Do people still use bread makers? Busted out ...

Carnivore Carnival
http://playgroundtwist.blogspot.com/2008/06/i-read-in-pamphlet-that-life-was.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2008. I read in a pamphlet. That life was platonic. That the great master plan. Could involve plate tectonics. That it’s all non-specific. You can focus yourself just. I went to a lecture. Met a man who devoted. His life to linguistics. Girls who took polaroids. I hoped to find meaning. In mind over matter. Or safety in photons. Or living in sin. I learned in a lesson. That everything’s something. Which fueled an obsession. With searching for Nothing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Carnivore Carnival: The Barroom Mirror
http://playgroundtwist.blogspot.com/2008/06/barroom-mirror.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2008. My baby is a sociopath. Maybe i am too. He spends 2 hours. In front of the mirror. He’s like light bulbs. He smells like the sun. He feels like paint. My baby is a sociopath. I think i am too. My baby drinks too much. He doesn’t like La Bohème. My baby is a sociopath. He’s my swizzle stick. We fuck under the lion statue. My baby is a sociopath. Or maybe it’s just me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Thank you for the surgery. View my complete profile.
