Friday, October 7, 2011. First full day in sunny California. So, after a visit from Mara's Uncle Mike, we went to a Thai restaurant named Rachada for a delicious lunch. I ordered mine spicy and was not disappointed. On the way home, we dropped by Underwood Family Farms, and then past Norwegian Grade, a winding road up through some hills cleared and built by my people back in 1901-1911. Thursday, October 20, 2011. That does not stand for "I'm OK, You're OK", but the town of Erick, Oklahoma. Roger Williams grew up here. He was King of the Road, but he's dead, so I'm taking over. Wouldn't it be fabulous if I moved to Erick and ran for mayor and won? Imagine if someone named Chatham beat out the current mayor in that village! Sun was a challenge with this shot. Roger was a smoker, and died soon after a diagnosis of throat cancer. None of this is possible, of course, but one can dream.

Saturday, October 1, 2011. October one. Bunny-Bunny, to those in the know. This was taken Thursday morning at Terrace Motel in Munising, Michigan. It lies on the upper peninsula. Sammy's dad is saying "bang! In the first photo, and in the second, she's playing dead. Sammy must stand for Samantha, but who would know? I gave her a biscuit, but not before it was established that she liked me anyway. Spent some of Suzie's gift card on a bagel and coffee. I kept my head on, of course. Final trip blog entry.
