Garage Punk Reviews: The Vows - The Vows
http://garagepunkreviews.blogspot.com/2008/10/vows-vows.html
Thursday, October 9, 2008. The Vows - The Vows. With a lineup that boasts Himsa member Johnny Pettibone amongst it’s ranks, The Vows bust out four spazzed-out, punked-up crossover style bashers unapologetically, blazing through “Back From The Deads” with assured intestinal fortitude, tipping a collective hat to the progenitors of this style of grizzled downbeat along the way. Gothic Metal Reviews: HIM - Razorblade Romance
http://gothicmetalreviews.blogspot.com/2008/10/him-razorblade-romance.html
Tuesday, October 14, 2008. HIM - Razorblade Romance. Right Here In My Arms" is highlighted by Valo's bassy vocalizations and a pulsating rhythm that breaks into an enormously memorable hook. The guitar tone on "Razorblade Romance" is ultimately godly in its sharpness and the flawless production overall gives HIM's well written tunes an overbearingly appealing presence. The tight beats of Gas Lipstick power "Razorblade Kiss" and Valo sounds almost like Ozzy Osbourne during the chorus. Lily Lazer (he h...

Avant Garde Reviews: CANAAN - The Unsaid Words
http://avantgardereviews.blogspot.com/2008/10/canaan-unsaid-words.html
Tuesday, October 14, 2008. CANAAN - The Unsaid Words. Morose ambiance fills up every last digit of “The Unsaid Words”, with Canaan portraying wizardry for manufacturing hauntingly depressive music that strictly identifies with drab, melancholy feelings. One of the most positive aspects of this group’s music is the percussive undertone that carries the group’s drifting, dream-state sounds with subtle accents and rolling polyrhythms. Four separate “fragments” provide listening continuity, bring...Similar t...

Saturday, October 11, 2008. TEMPER TEMPER - Temper Temper. 8220;Terror Tongue In Cheek” has a heavy chorus that again is drowned out by organ. This seems to be a trend with many bands doing this kind of music these days. Unfortunately, it detracts from the power of the music. Willing to crossover into something a bit more pop punk? Gothic Metal Reviews: LEAVES’ EYES - Elegy
http://gothicmetalreviews.blogspot.com/2008/10/leaves-eyes-elegy.html
Sunday, October 19, 2008. LEAVES’ EYES - Elegy. Alexander Krull has produced a hit record in “Elegy”, a soaring song which is punctuated by the beautiful, ethereal voice of Krull’s wife, known to most metalheads as Liv Kristine (formerly of Theatre Of Tregedy.). Many fans of death metal innovators Atrocity will be surprised to discover that as the backing group to Liv, the band can create music which is beautiful rather than brutal and perhaps even more viable than the musician’s more extreme works.
