Monthly Archives: September 2008. September 8, 2008 · 4:49 am. Long Ride After a Long Layoff. I was off the bike for four weeks in later July and most of August. The first week was due to travel and the rest was due to having the flu. I have been riding again for about two weeks covering 62 and 80 miles per week. Today I joined members of the club to check out the metric century route that we will be doing on September 20. Map to Utica District Park. Monacacy Middle D ride. Blog at WordPress.com.

Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Too much work and not enough riding. Today I did some additional trail work at the Shed with my buddy Dave, addressing and area in need of errosion control. I'm looking forward to getting back on the bike and hitting the trails instead of just working on them. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be putting tires to dirt at the Shed. Links to this post. Monthly Archives: May 2008. May 26, 2008 · 5:25 am. Big, Beautiful Ride. I was pleased how it went overall. The weather was great. It was my longest ride of the year so far, and I did it at a healthy pace. I was tired at the end, but not in pain. YTD: 956.2 miles. May 22, 2008 · 5:47 am. The Ride of Silence. It was sunny when we left although the road was wet. One problem was my brakes squeal when wet. We are trying to ride silently and I squealed at each stop. Monthly Archives: June 2008. June 9, 2008 · 2:09 am. All the Hills That I can Handle. George showed me this route a couple of years ago, but he has not lead the ride yet. He wouldn’t even need to write a cue sheet. In a fit of desperation rather than inspiration, I named it Jefferson-Adamstown-Buckystown. I should have named it All the Hills That Mike Can Handle. I believe in truth in advertising so I have to inform that the flattest metric century is only 59.5 miles according to my odometer.
