http://talesfromthedelkside.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Tales from the Delk Side. A creative outlet and soapbox whereby I have stuck my foot so far into my mouth, surely I have quashed any hopes of ever being elected to public office. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. It's official. I'm discontinuing this blog, as I've moved to a hyperlocal blog: www.lakelandlocal.com. I believe there's strength in numbers, and I'm happy to be a part of Lakeland Local, which features three other writers besides me. It's flattering to be part of a talented group of writers. Admission ...

Tales from the Delk Side. A creative outlet and soapbox whereby I have stuck my foot so far into my mouth, surely I have quashed any hopes of ever being elected to public office. Monday, February 16, 2009. Every Kiss Begins With K. Valentine’s Day came early for me this year and I can tell you this: the Kay Jewelers commercial is right when it says, “Every kiss begins with K.”. For me, that is “K” as in “Kel-Tec.”. I will admit that this definitely is not the kind of handgun you want to target shoot with...

Wednesday, February 18, 2009. The Battle of the Bulge. The Battle of the Bulge is something I've fought nearly all of my adult life. It comes as no surprise that the older I get, the more the bulge gets the best of me. But in the back of my mind, I couldn't help being jealous. Why does. Have hyperthyroidism, too? While whining a...

http://www.inmagicnation.com/2008/06/orlandos-best-theme-park.html
Orlando, Florida: a dream in progress. June 19, 2008. Orlando's best theme park. Every year, millions of tourists come to Orlando to visit Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World, but almost all of them miss Central Florida's best park: Wekiwa Springs State Park. Don't ask me why, but the springs is spelled Wekiwa and the river is spelled Wekiva. Thanks for reminding us about one of the areas best kept secrets! We often forget to mention this one, as many probably do. We appreciate the reminder :).

Thursday, February 19, 2009. Some Things Are Worth Repeating. I'm a writer. I'm comfortable with my style; my abilities. But sometimes, I read things like this and wish these were my words:. I wish I could take language. And fold it like cool, moist rags. I would lay words on your forehead. I would wrap words on your wrists.

Tales from the Delk Side. A creative outlet and soapbox whereby I have stuck my foot so far into my mouth, surely I have quashed any hopes of ever being elected to public office. Monday, June 23, 2008. When I think about Publix, I think about this:. The Publix in Ocala where my mom shopped when I was a child had one of these murals. I always associated Publix with the murals- and the S&H Green Stamp store next door. What are your thoughts on the murals? Are they a part of your childhood memories, too?
