out of the bag: September 2014
http://out-of-the-bag.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 16, 2014. Tommy ton for style.com. Haven't done this in a while, dedicating this one to interesting reads I came across lately:. I like what I've read of the book, but I get what Alice Gregory is getting at too). Keith Gessun on the business of publishing in Vanity Fair. Found it via Jessica Stanley. When I looked up Chad Harbach). Can everybody not give Lee any drugs? Heartbreaking read about Isabella Blow and Alexander McQueen in Vanity Fair. Also, Lauren Hutton. So awesome. Navy mid...

out of the bag: climb every...
http://out-of-the-bag.blogspot.com/2015/06/climb-every.html
Friday, June 12, 2015. I am writing this post after I climbed 120 floors, trying to get myself semi-ready for an attempt to reach the summit of Gunung Rinjani, a 3,726-m mountain on Lombok, Indonesia. Hitting the slopes of Merapi was not my idea - it was my rather ambitious younger sister who insisted I couldn't possibly resist the idea of climbing an active volcano. Ironically, she spent most of the trekking wheezing and asking if we could turn back. I said no (while also wheezing). And yes it's a steep...

out of the bag: July 2015

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Women who work: kali, of the nife en l'air. This is regrettably, the last I have in this series for now - I find that much as I miss writing, I lack the discipline to spend time doing in my free time, but I hope this malaise is a passing phase. In any case, Kali, of The Nife en l'Air. Has admirably filled the good writing gap on this blog. Notably, with this quote, which I think sort of sums up what I've been thinking about this whole workwear thing:. This first outfit (above) i...

out of the bag: women who work: marlene, of chocolate, cookies and candies

Friday, April 24, 2015. Women who work: marlene, of chocolate, cookies and candies. Marlene of Chocolate, Cookies and Candies. Is a person of firm opinions, and I thought it would be interesting to pick her brain on this topic, from the perspective of someone who currently doesn't report to an office every day, but gets scrutinised a lot nonetheless, being a blogger and someone who writes and photographs professionally. Photos courtesy of Marlene. 3) What's the biggest sartorial mistake someone can make ...

out of the bag: August 2014

Friday, August 29, 2014. You might wonder what's the point of diving in a tropical paradise like the Maldives only to leach the glorious colours out of the pictures. But the marine world is about so much more than colour - light and shadow brings out the richness, the sense of drama and the depth that makes diving such a fascinating activity for me. Some of these are screen captures from my videos and some were taken at night.). Saturday, August 23, 2014. Summer in the city. Happy weekend to all!

Of Stranger Sensibilities: April 2013

I’m always jealous of the beautiful mood boards that so many graphic designers make and display on their blogs nowadays. Taking a page from Miss Sophie. Here is my amateurish attempt at a mood board for the summer. Make up for the summer = beach waves a touch of bronzer a perfect orange red pout with MAC’s So Chaud. Armed with best white tees ever, you can bet they will be part of my uniform this summer, though I have to say Marlon Brando as Stanley from A Streetcar Named Desire. Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Assembled Hazardly: May 2015

The last four or five months has been kind of nuts. If 2015 is any indication of the rest of my life, I think I'll be needing a permanent Vitamin B pump and a ginseng tube (or speed maybe? Either way, I've been finding it hard to slow down and almost had a crazy nervous breakdown a few weeks ago from working/un-procrastinating about 100 hours a week. Don't get me wrong, I am. Would a Bugaboo work better than a $150 Graco stroller from Target? I'm sure it would. Is it necessary? I keep getting these comme...

I've recently discovered a much better recipe for my homemade oil cleanser that requires virtually no washcloth or steaming. This may not be an oil cleanser in the truest sense, but I find the texture much more appealing, and the effect is absolutely divine. Since no wash cloth or steaming is required, I find it's very gentle on my sensitive skin. I used Penns Hill castile soap. 2 tbsp. organic, cold-pressed rice bran oil. 2 tbsp. organic, cold-pressed camellia sinensis oil. 2 tbsp. organic castor oil.
