I laugh that I can not leave the house with out making my bed, making sure the kitchen is clean and laundry is in order. Memories in a Watermelon. June 16, 2015. This morning I was cutting a watermelon and the image of my father cutting one up for my son as a toddler came flooding across my mind. He was making sure all seeds were removed from every piece and they were not to big and not too small. This made me smile. My son did not the choose the conventional path to college after high school, He enlisted in the Marine Corps and now is in the Marine Reserves after almost a year of extensive training. So, having him leave the nest for college has been an easier transition thus far for me. I have spent this first week just cleaning the house from having my son and daughter at home.
