Monthly Archives: April 2011. April 21, 2011 · 3:29 pm. A lot has happened in the past few months. (That’s part of the reason for my absence on the blogosphere.). I spent a few weeks in Africa. I planned an overnighter for 600 3rd-4th graders and 100 volunteers. I’ve had multiple job interviews- and even been offered a few jobs. But recently, I have been challenging myself with this thought: is the where/what/when really the most important thing? Does it matter what job I choose and where I live? My pray...

Monthly Archives: August 2011. August 1, 2011 · 5:59 pm. Somehow it has already been 2 months since I started my new job at Southeast. I think I can honestly say that they have been 2 of the most challenging months I’ve had in a long time. In a good way, but challenging nonetheless. While I could go on and on about the different struggles and blessings that have come from this new venture, I currently can sum it up in one sentence:. What is the problem with aspiring to be successful, you might ask? 8220;...

Back to the Future. 8220;The way we concieve the future sculpts the present, gives contour and tone to nearly every action and thought through the day. If our sense of future is weak, we live listlessly….but if the future is dominated by the coming again of Jesus, there is little room left on the screen for projecting our anxieties and fantasies.” -Eugene Peterson. My thinking has shifted to a point where the future is dominated only by dream...

Monthly Archives: February 2010. February 22, 2010 · 8:51 pm. February 20, 2010 · 1:35 pm. I decided to start a new blog, mainly because I’m tired of my old one. I’ve actually been meaning to start this one for awhile, I just hadn’t gotten around to it (being a senior in college requires quite a bit of time, I’ve learned.) Liz started a new one last night ( http:/ lizbarron.wordpress.com/. So I figure now is as good a time as any to start mine. Andy Rowell Church Leadership Conversations.

October 19, 2011 · 3:43 pm. Things I have been learning:. How to make my own cup of coffee. My bank account just can’t justify Starbucks every daybut I no longer live with a best friend. Who made me coffee almost every morning in college. I STILL can’t seem to get the water to coffee grounds ratio correct. I need to be surrounded by encouraging people who are supportive of me. I don’t spend nearly enough time in the Word and in prayer. The St. Louis Cardinals are in the World Series! Things I am broken.

Newer posts →. February 1, 2011 · 12:15 pm. Stick with the Ketchup. On Sunday mornings I lead a 4th grade small group, and it’s definitely one of the highlights of my week. Two hours full of ping-pong, pretending to laugh at things that a 4th grader might find hilarious but really makes no sense to me, worship, intentional conversations about Jesus, new friendships…it’s energizing, really. They laughed with me (or maybe at me) when I did stupid things like bring my tv remote to work thinking it’s my phone, or when I was absolutely convinced that miniature giraffes were real. They cried with me during tough seasons: when I had what seemed like an unreal amount of car problems, when relationships failed, or when I was just being an over-emotional, sensitive girl. They put up with me when I was trying to put together the 3. Http:/ abloomin...

In May of 2010 I graduated from Taylor University. With a degree in Christian Educational Ministries. For as long as I can remember, I have vowed to never live in Kentucky…. God sure does have a sense of humor. Currently, I am living in Louisville, KY working in children’s ministry at Southeast Christian Church. I absolutely love working at this place along-side, in my opinion, some of the best children’s ministers in the country. One response to “. July 14, 2011 at 7:41 am. O, that sounded creepy. Http:...
