Check-in after 12.00pm. Our office closes at 7.00pm so guests must arrive before this time. Checkout is 10.00am. Off street parking is available. Ahipara is a small village with a couple of shops for basics and petrol, as well as a takeaway and great cafe. It pays to stop at Pack n Save, Kaitaia if you are passing through. Slide down the massive dunes here in Ahipara or take our sandboards to Te Paki, on the way to Cape Reinga. One of the best places in NZ to go exploring on a quad bike. Guided tours and bike rental available. Catch your dinner. Ahipara has great fishing and you can collect mussels and tua-tuas (pictured). Shipwreck bay is world famous for its surf. Ahipara is the ideal place to learn to surf with its many breaks and good conditions. Lots of different options means it is great for experts too. That's why we call it Ahi-paradise. Ask the boss what's the best place to surf on the day. We can give you tips to improve your skill level. Our surfboard hire is at a low rate for guests - $20/day. Sunday, July 31, 2005. Lobee and I took the train into Porirua today! It's a 'burb about 20 mins out of Wellington. It's where one would find a KMART.haha.
