Saturday, October 13, 2012. Rilda Sue Fish - We Lose An Amazing Person. Rilda passed away on Friday morning, at the age of 62, following a recent diagnosis of lung cancer. Unfortunately, by the time it was diagnosed, it had already spread to her brain and spinal fluid. She knew her time left was short, she was diagnosed on July 9th, and fought it with everything she had. Unfortunately Rilda wasn't well enough to make the trip, but friends Peggy Patters, and Beth Haley were waiting to share video of Nike'...

Saturday, March 30, 2013. Your Dog's Favorite Rewards. What’s your dog’s favorite reward? Have you ever tried to figure it out by letting the dog choose? It’s rather fun, and I highly recommend it! It was raining, windy and too cold kind of a day a few weeks ago. It's a I don’t want to clean the house. Here’s what I did, your results may vary! I started with toys, and I did the same set up with both Seeker and Nettle, working them individually of course. Did they get the same toy? I then mixed up the orde...

Smooth Sailin' Agility: June 2012

Thursday, June 28, 2012. Agility Class - Does it always need to involve equipment? Let's face it, it's HOT outside! Too hot, to run agility courses, at least I think so. It's a tough call, do you cancel class? Do you let people decide what they want to do? Do you offer a morning session on the weekend? For this week, we decided to offer to have class at the 'normal' time, if people wanted to come. As another option, we offered Saturday morning, for those that can make it. So, last night, tonight and Satu...

Smooth Sailin' Agility: March 2012

Monday, March 26, 2012. I was up in the Twin Cities over the weekend giving a few workshops on Tricks, Beginning Water Work, and Advanced Water work for the Portuguese Water Dog Club of the Twin Cities. Working with Great People, and their Great Dogs! The weather was so amazing, we could have been in the water! The 'Advanced' group was a nice mix of dogs/handlers at Working and Courier level, with a few Apprentice level mixed it. I loved that! In both groups we discussed the importance of not just workin...

Project Go Dog: July 2012
http://projectgodog.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 30, 2012. That’s pretty much all the quality conversation I have time for these days. If you see me, insert above! Please rest assured that though my 'out of office' is on, I’m thinking of you. I don’t know when things got so runaway busy again. I tried to slow down? I thought I did? Hm Maybe The Pup stepped on the “FF” button of my life remote- she has a knack for doing that in reality. Poor remote. Anyways, quick update:. Awesome. Cuteness. Fluffy. Physically sound (knocking on wood).

Project Go Dog: Still Swingin'
http://projectgodog.blogspot.com/2013/05/still-swingin.html
Monday, May 6, 2013. Blink, blink, blink. Whaaa What time is it? What MONTH is it? So ends a hibernation hiatus. You ever have that moment where you suddenly have what you wanted, after months and months of working to get it, and you're beyond happy- but then you immediately think.now what? Turns out this is a normal part of the goal life cycle but boy, did I ever get stuck in that 'now what' phase. So I slept on it. All winter. That was a long winter. So now what, right? After all this time, what next?

Project Go Dog: GO DOG Nomenclature
http://projectgodog.blogspot.com/p/go-dog-nomenclature.html
I'm not sure exactly why or how I came to refer to everyone (and everyTHING. even the dog toys.) mentioned in Project Go Dog by non-specific terminology, but I do. Thinking about it, it seems to give the blog a sort of ' Everyman. Feel- I like to think that our issues are pretty general and that others can relate. And even if you haven't yet lived through our accomplishments/demises, hopefully you can easily imagine and identify with the experiences. Go Dog. well, a dog who goes for it! THE" Dog. Shi...

Project Go Dog: February 2012
http://projectgodog.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Know Your Dog (Or Else the Internet Will Eat You). A sad video was shared the other day which caused minor outrage and pitchfork wielding among many viewers. In said sad video a 12 week old BC was being lured around a course (yes…a course) by his new mom. She took him over jumps (requiring actual jumping), on the teeter (a healthy drop of a foot or so) and over a dogwalk (full-sized, lowered but over half height). She asked him to jump a mini grid requiring turning. Complicati...
