Easy Lentil stew: enfoodsiasts

I made an easy and yummy lentil stew last night. Murias actually had 3 bowls! Sauteed 1 medium onion, 1 medium carrot, and a yellow bell pepper (all diced, of course! In a little olive oil. Added 5 cups water, 2 cups lentils,. 4 tsp chicken bouillon (sub vegetable bouillon if vegetarian), 1/2 tsp curry powder, pepper, salt. Brought to a boil. Reduced heat and simmered covered until lentils were tender- about 45 minutes to an hour. Also made spicy orange chicken and cranberry couscous. Post a new comment.

Cleaning out and reorganizing pantry to see what we really have. Want to try new and exciting things with following-. Angel food cake mix. Dried beans- pintos, black, etc. Any recipe ideas for any of the above items? Want to try things that are new to us and not our same old standards. I finally remembered to type out the cookie recipe I told you about, ages ago. From my mom's friend, Sue Powers). 1 c butter or margerine. 1 c brown sugar (I prefer dark brown for this). 6 oz semi-sweet choc. chips. Any suggestions on what to do with a surplus of pears, aside from actual canning? Brought home a large quantity of them, given to him by a co-worker. We have far more than we could ever dream of eating before they go bad, and this variety is thick-skinned and so is better for cooking than eating fresh.
