Tuesday, September 4, 2012. The Beaches of Normandy. Below is Omaha Beach, where the Americans landed. This is the Cemetery for American soldiers. It is right above Omaha beach. It was very moving walking through and just looking at all the crosses, knowing each of them were someone who gave their life for freedom. There are around 9,000 graves there. This is a wall with all the names of the American men missing in action. There are around 1,500 men. These ditches are left from bombs that landed here.

Sunday, September 2, 2012. ParisDay 1 and 2. Here's are a couple pictures of our apartment here in Paris. Our view from the apartment. The first thing we did after settling into our apartment is walk over to the Notre Dame Cathedral. It was about a 10 min walk for us. Then we walked to the Louvre. The next day we took the Met to the Eiffel Tower. It was so neat to see in person! There is so much intricate metal work involved in it. In the elevator on the way up the Eiffel Tower. I like how they served it!

Thursday, December 29, 2011. For the past two weeks we've been working on a large amount of alterations, most of them being WA State Patrol uniforms. It required hemming the pants and sleeves and taking in the side seams of most of the shirts. Altogether we altered about 50 different pieces of clothing. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. We had the fun of doing a makeover of a room for our brand new niece. What fun that was! I bought plaques that I painted and also wooden letters that I painted and glued to the plaques. And I stapled ribbon to the back to hang them up. Pretty simple for a nice look. I made the bumpers just like you would make a pillow and stuffed it with stuffing. The piping adds a nice look to it. This was also very simple. The curtains before the valance was added. Monday, April 30, 2012. Embroidery Hoop Nursery Decor. Since my new niece, Juliet was recently born we wanted to make her a set of embroidery hoops with her name on them for her nursery. Here's a step by step tutorial on how we made them. First, if you don't want the original wood color of the embroidery hoops you can paint them. We painted ours white. Cut out each letter. Pick your fabrics and trace with chalk on the wrong side of the fabric around the embroidery hoop. Cut 3/4" past your marking line.
