Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Nothing like coming home to find ants crawling around the house. Of course, from the ant point of view, I'm sure there's nothing like the vacuum coming to suck you up; all beings in this house are equally shocked. Well, not equally, I guess. I'm still here. Anyway, on to today's class and some homework. We spent the whole class on The Things They Carried. Monday, March 10, 2014. On Discrimination and Intolerance. Last class, we had our quiz on some aspects of World War II. I will give a version 2 of that quiz on Thursday at lunch for those of you who were absent. We also discussed two events that were integral to World War II for Canada:. The Holocaust and Hitler's plans for the "final solution", which had a resounding impact world wide. And the internment of Japanese Canadians which had a legacy within Canada, resulting in a federal apology in 1988.
