EngagetheRHYTHM discovering the unforced rhythms of grace. A journey to (re)discover my voice. November 27, 2009. So I’m back. I didn’t really go anywhere. Well that’s not entirely true. I’ve actually been a lot of places and had a lot of inspiring experiences since I last wrote on here. But I’m back from being lazy. I’m back from not honoring the discipline of writing consistently. I’m back! From → Recent Musings. Give the rock stars credit. July 22, 2009. There is an undeniable buzz in the air. Tho...

For what its worth. My thoughts may not be deep at times, but they are my thoughts.read responsively. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. I'm in New York as I write this. It's been a weird experience. NYC has always been a "neverland" type place to me. I see it in movies, tv shows, etc. Now I am here. Theres obviously a lot of stories I could share and I will in the near future. For now here's a few:. My Home and Native Land. To extend a g'day. To the fellow northerners. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

For what its worth. My thoughts may not be deep at times, but they are my thoughts.read responsively. Wednesday, September 17, 2008. I decided that I'm now a terrible blogger. The past month has been a whirlwind as I excpected it to be. I did not know it would take me this long to write a simple few paragraphs. This one won't be much due to sharing a computer a work and I'm not the primary user. Few things of interest. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The best way to view sports. For your Canadian needs.

Saturday, April 25, 2009. So at the anti-slavery organization i work for, love146. We have this term we call the collective shout. it is one of the things that we think needs to happen for this horror to end. we define it as one voice added to another added to another getting a bit louder and a bit stronger until all that is heard everywhere is "ABOLITION and RESTORATION.". Both organizations i am extremely grateful exist and got some $ friday . kids need clean water and deserve a beautiful, sparklin...

Kimbal and i have been thinking that there has to be another way. we want to take this dual responsibility of parenting and raising children seriously. we both. What could it look like? Saturday, November 28, 2009. We were in the city again last weekend. I was down there for work, helping out with a church service and then we wanted to see Emma Thompson’s exhibit “Journey.”. Along the way we got to catch up with an old college friend, Marg and then get some good family time: just me and my two boys. On the way back to the car from a long day we decided to spend a little extra time in the city and walk the Brooklyn Bridge. It had been a gorgeous day. It was a beautiful moment. I thought ...

Monday, January 18, 2010. So I have been doing a lot more yoga lately. I started going to this studio. When we first arrived in new haven and I have really liked it. The mat has turned into this space where i have been able to escape, think and have some time for self reflection. Combining breath and movement, mediation in motion…it helped me gain some new eyes along the way this year. In practice a few weeks ago i noticed something about myself. Then i would get tired. I too have noticed the same patter...

Now, i have seen the movies. i guess i live in some strange world where i just think that most everything i see on tv isn't actually happening. up until this point that's what i thought about little machines running around, fighting our battles for us. we chatted a few minutes about the article and left it at that. We are going to be fighting this war, shouldn't we. Friday, August 14, 2009. There have been m...

Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Happy with a limp. So, we have been here 1 month. I can’t really believe it. I don’t know why i haven’t written more. this first month in uganda has been….hard. I guess there is no other way to really say it. i have thought about writing something and beginning to share life here but each time i sit down to write i just can’t. EngagetheRHYTHM discovering the unforced rhythms of grace. A journey to (re)discover my voice. May 7, 2010. Today my thoughts are simple and somber. Today I hurt for friends. As I hurt I can’t help but feel like something is broken. And I can’t help but admit that I have participated in the brokenness. What if it is IMPOSSIBLE. To separate the two? What if as we ourselves participate in the process of being redeemed that it’s actually our process. And who it is we are becoming. And how we handle. We spen...
