It was to show his point that when someone came back from "the real world" and reality set in they were still humans and KIDS and were remorseful for what they did. This book was a great example and showed exactly what would have happened if a bunch of little kids got trapped on an island. Very good book but very bad ending. June 2, 2010 at 7:56 AM.
