English 387 Thoughts and Words. June 21, 2010. A Wrinkle in Time. Throughout the novel, there seemed to be a heavy emphasis on the senses: sight, touch, hearing, taste, smell, as well as kinesthetic and "sixth" senses. Meg's description of the loss of senses demonstrates how important they really are: "She was alone in a fragment of nothingness. No light, no sound, no feeling" (65).
