à la Montréal!: Would you expect any less?
http://montrealmilieu.blogspot.com/2008/01/would-you-expect-any-less.html
Monday, January 7, 2008. Would you expect any less? From last week's deep freeze. To the big thaw! There's still snow on the ground here, but I don't expect that it will survive the temperatures of 7 to 9 C that are predicted for the next few days. Not that I'm complaining. Joe and I celebrated our six-month wedding anniversary by watching the final two episodes of the West Wing. Of course, we'll be tuned in for the real political drama in New Hampshire tomorrow. Such is the life of a junkie ;).

Friday, December 14, 2007. Tales of rogue elves. In case you weren't aware, Canada Post puts on a fabulous Letters to Santa. Program each holiday season. It's a great way to spread holiday cheer and a valuable literacy initiative. Unfortunately, things seem to have gone a bit awry. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). à la Montréal!: Ring, ring

Thursday, December 13, 2007. I received a customer service call from Vidéotron. For $19.99 a month, which included a whole bundle of calling features at no extra charge. At that, she had nothing more to say :). We have been using Vonage for about six months now and it really is a great deal compared to a traditional landline. We have a regular phone and this adapter. Most of the time they're not overly relevant, but sometimes, they get it right on. I also had a tip that filling in the form on the computer and printing it out gives you priority treatment compared to filling it in by hand. Whatever the case, it's something that I won't have to think about for the next 4.5 years. Monday, January 7, 2008.

à la Montréal!: The academic life
http://montrealmilieu.blogspot.com/2007/12/academic-life.html
Friday, December 14, 2007. It's been a pretty low-key, yet important day in my academic career. My Master's degree congregation was held at the University of Birmingham. This morning (inquiring minds can check out my thesis here. And I submitted my application for PhD studies in Educational Psychology. At McGill this afternoon. I'm taking two courses next term to get a bit of a head start, but the department only officially accepts new full-time applicants in September. January 2, 2008 at 8:47 AM.

Joe and I are both happy to have seen lots of family and friends in Windsor over the holidays and wish you all the very best in 2008! I will try to get back to posting on a more regular schedule in the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned! Hmm just left a comment, but don't know what happened?

à la Montréal!: Bon voyage
http://montrealmilieu.blogspot.com/2008/01/bon-voyage.html
Thursday, January 17, 2008. I was very pleased, and frankly a little surprised, to receive my new passport today. The passport office in downtown Montreal is notoriously busy, but I only had to wait about half an hour when I was there last Friday. In addition to using the Simplified Renewal Process. Not that air travel seems to be much fun at the moment. with violent protests by frustrated passengers in Buenos Aires. And an emergency landing in Calgary. And even a crash landing at London Heathrow.
