The word ‘make’ in the Tagalog-English schema is like a wang-wang siren to pre-empt the blatant misuse of a Filipino [1] verb in an English sentence. The word make is Taglish or Englog’s biggest mistake—like a career-killing, one-star second album that everyone just can’t seem to forget.
