Hand Engraving is the technique used to remove varying amounts of material in the precise shape of your design from the surface of a steel die or printing plate. Sounds simple, but because the areas removed are then filled with a special ink and printed, it literally leaves your design standing out from the surface.

Once you have a plate which has been produced by either Hand Engraving or the Copper Etching process, it can then be printed using die stamping machines. Ink is applied to the printing plate and any excess removed from the non-printing areas. The material to be printed on is then forced under incredibly high pressure into the engraved areas of the plate. This combination of ink and embossing gives you the impressive 3 dimensional look and 'feel' to the image.
