Swanne Reflections and Silver Swanne were birthed out of the craziness of technological ‘spaghetti’, when I thought I had lost access to my other blogs. While I was able to retrieve them, I find that creating a new space for. I am a blogger and a writer, and I’ve played with the idea of a memoir, especially since I’ve covered a lot of ground already through my previous blogs, The Traveling Alchemist. And SwanneSong: Views From the Edge. How that turns out remains to be seen! Some of my time is engaged in...

Meditations on Light – Thirteen. Asymp; Leave a comment. I was reminded today that the longer winter days, from now until the Spring Equinox, as well as other seasonal changes, influence many people’s moods. Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) has long been known to be a condition that creates depression in vulnerable individuals. Meditations on Light – Twenty. Asymp; Leave a comment. It only takes a spark to get a fire going is the beginning of a song that many Christian congregations sing, with the idea that one person can light a fire for Christianity to bring others into the fold. As I’ve been writing these past couple of weeks, the spark is the one that lights our personal fire. It comes from within, even when it seems that it comes as the result of some outside event. 8211; Used with permission. Larr; Previous post. You are ...

Meditations on Light – Sixteen. Asymp; Leave a comment. I was unable to post #15 on the fifteenth as I was totally out of juice for my tablet, computer, and phone, and there was no Internet service. So today there will be two posts. Yesterday we moved to a regular camp site with electric hook-up and water. So nice to be warm again! In the evening I put up the one string of lights I brought small white lights interspersed with pepper lights. I LOVE pepper lights! The place was RED and overwhelmingly so!

Meditations on Light – Fifteen. Asymp; Leave a comment. I hate arriving somewhere in the dark, especially if I’ve never been there before. I’ve wanted to see Palo Duro Canyon, but not by starlight at 40 degrees F. So again we sat in the dark, using the energy of the power stored in our battery, and keeping warm by a small catalytic propane heater. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Judy’s Redbud Tree. Asymp; Leave a comment. Since childhood I’ve been in love with redbud trees, those trees that offer their magenta-colored buds as the last frosts of winter disappear. In years past I’ve planted them along my drive, and admired them in the Virginia forests where I’ve lived and traveled. As I finished taking the photos (I just couldn’t get enough! And was walking back to the vehicle, a woman called out to me. She lived in the house in which yard this tree was thriving. And she a...I tol...

Meditations on Light – Eighteen. Asymp; Leave a comment. This little light of mine. Do you remember the childhood song, This Little Light of Mine? A lot of children have sung it in Sunday Schools and Bible Schools across the nation over the decades. Holding their pointer finger aloft as a candle they’ve sung,. 8220;This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine,. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine,. Meditations on Light – Seventeen. Asymp; Leave a comment. Look at this unusual Christmas tree! It was in the Double Eagle restaurant in Las Cruces, NM where we had dinner with my friend’s 80-year old aunt. It is made from empty Patron tequila bottles, and green and red lights. Interesting how just about anything can be created as one symbol of the season. It is up to us to discern the real from the illusion. Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
