Life by the park: 07/01/2003 - 08/01/2003
http://lifebythepark.blogspot.com/2003_07_01_archive.html
Life by the park. Life in inner-city Melbourne. Thursday, July 31, 2003. It seems that the Gombert fund-raiser is to raise money for their overseas tour. I'm very glad to sing in the concerts, but it might have been nice to know what the cause was. Mum rang last night to let me know that Solveig senior's death notice was in yesterday's paper. Unfortunately we don't have Ian's mobile number so can't contact him to let him know. Posted by Frank at 12:49 pm. Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Posted by Frank at 2:58 pm.

I told you so. I can't believe you didnt believe me Countess. Saturday, September 16, 2006. True Stories From around the World. I've just bought a delightful compilation of Travel Tales. Introduced by by a wonderfully eloquent and self confessed frequently sullen author: Herbert Gold. Behold, here is a man doing battle with his khaki clad peripatetic sould to overcome impulses toward jealousy as he reads accounts by [list of authors.]". I know how he feels. T is off to tour Europe. T: I certainly don't i...

Esurientes - The Comfort Zone: May 2005
http://esurientes.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Esurientes - The Comfort Zone. Monday, May 30, 2005. Another foray into the world of cooking-with-Guinness-stout. This recipe comes from my fellow Melbourne blogger, Esther. Who mentioned it when she saw the post about my stout, treacle and pear cake. I love these 1/2 size cake tins. They take half a standard cake mix, which is great for me because I. The raw batter for this cake tastes bloody AWESOME! The Guinness really comes through strongly and complements the chocol...

Esurientes - The Comfort Zone: February 2005
http://esurientes.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Esurientes - The Comfort Zone. Sunday, February 27, 2005. A busy weekend of music, beginning by going to the Mahler 3 with the Melbourne Sypmony, in which a friend of ours was playing, then Arvo Part rehearsals Saturday morning, onto an outing to see A's father conduct the Symphony Under The Stars concert, then a bit of Josquin and Tallis tonight at Evensong. And this isn't even very busy yet; the 2 weeks leading up to Easter will be frantic! Not the same park, obviously!

Esurientes - The Comfort Zone: April 2005
http://esurientes.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Esurientes - The Comfort Zone. Saturday, April 30, 2005. I had hoped to write a proper entry today but I've been in rehearsal. All morning, and spent the last 3 hours researching and sending emails to 30-odd vocal ensembles in Italy asking for assistance with our European tour next year. Now I can't wait to get away from the computer! So, today I'm posting some photos of my new knives I received from my mum for my birthday. Aren't they wonderful? But I'm having great fun...

Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Esurientes - The Comfort Zone. Wednesday, December 29, 2004. What you see here is our Christmas dinner entree (what we call entree here, is what Americans call appetiser), which was served a few days ago at Christmas dinner at my house, on a beatiful sunny day here in Melbourne. This light dish was a perfect way to begin a big meal on a warm day. For tartlets again. The recipe can be found here. And did I mention the pastry? Ohmygawd it was good! Links to this post.

Esurientes - The Comfort Zone: January 2005
http://esurientes.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
Comment-link {margin-left:.6em;}. Esurientes - The Comfort Zone. Monday, January 31, 2005. Double chocolate syrup cake. This is a variation of the Quadruple Chocolate Loaf Cake in Nigella Lawson's latest book,. I had a raging NEED and DESIRE for chocolate cake, partly because it's *that* time of the month, but mainly because of the amazing looking, gooey chocolate cake Zarah Maria has on her site at the moment. Doesn't it look incredible? I just wanted to scarf it all down right then. This cake fit the b...

Omnes angeli for 40-part choir by Vaughan McAlley
http://mcalley.net.au/music/omnes
In principio erat verbum. For two string orchestras. For flute ensemble or wind quintet. By Vaughan McAlley (2012). The idea for Omnes angeli. Came to me when I decided to organize a casual performance of Thomas Tallis’ Spem in alium. For my fortieth birthday. With forty voices voices to be assembled, I decided to try writing a forty-part piece of my own. The text for Omnes angeli. Comes from the Book of Revelation 7:11-12:. I wrote the following notes for the program:. From a technical point of view, wr...
