So, my play went fairly well this weekend,. Opening night was great. I really didn’t feel the nerves that I have the past few productions I’ve been in, I think because I knew this show was good. And the audience responded right away. A packed house (ok, 90 people in a theatre converted from an old church sanctuary, but still) helped, and as always, really motivated us to push the energy, but not overdo it. Yeah, it’s been a while. Well, now that another semester has ended, and I’m trying to get my broken body back into some semblance of its former athletic shape, maybe I should also make a game effort to try and revive some writing skills and track my various progresses at the same time- if I can keep the little clawing fur-burger trying to scale my short-clad legs off of me for long enough. Current project: Community Theatre production this weekend, titled. Over the River and Through the Woods.

In the state of Iowa, you have a 1 year, 61 day grace period after your license expires to get it renewed; which is a good thing because I was in line about that long at the DMV today trying to get my license renewed (ba-dum ching! 8221; It got uncomfortable, especially as we realized the guy was going to get his license, no matter how badly he read the lines. The icing on the cake was the following conversation:. DMV woman: So, do you still live in Zearing? Oldy Oldson: Yep, I am a little hard of hearing.
