The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: Eating in Hawaii
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2014/08/eating-in-hawaii.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Saturday, August 9, 2014. Hawaii has some great sushi. I can't really call myself a sushi connoisseur since I've never been to Japan or had sushi outside of Hawaii, Florida, and California, but Hawaii is where I first tasted and fell in love with it. I wish I could say that I ate at awesome, local, hole-in-the-wall sushi bars the whole time I was in Hawaii. The truth is a whole lot more disappointing. Here I am at Ruby Tuesdays on the southwest side of Oahu:. Since we spe...

The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: Things I Want Right Now: Popcorn Edition
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2015/03/things-i-want-right-now-popcorn-edition.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Monday, March 23, 2015. Things I Want Right Now: Popcorn Edition. I haven't done this in a while. Eric O'Gorman used to do a thing on his EntropyandLight blog called "Things I want right now" where he would wax nostalgic about a food he missed tasting, like a peanut butter sandwich. Preferred methods of dying: lightning bolt, bear mauling, randomly crushed by falling anvil, drowning in popcorn. Cats like popcorn too, apparently. I don't know if he's a slob or a genius.

The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: Red Lobster
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2014/02/red-lobster.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Saturday, February 22, 2014. My wife is a work of art. Smooth, alabaster skin, dainty nose, moist lips kissed by a rose, hair of golden silk, hazel eyes like a misty forest after a storm. Unmarred by age, she is just as beautiful today as the day I married her. A model. A diva. A goddess. But something happens to my sweet angel when she eats crab legs. Something.unusual. Something.terrifying. Grace just came for the biscuits. Seems innocent enough, right? By the end of th...

The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: Why I'm a tubie
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2013/04/why-i-tubie.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Why Im a tubie. The "Before" Shot, Afghanistan, 2002. Dec '03, chemo with my favorite oncologist. My neurologist had a new theory. This was radiation damage (radiation-induced neuropathy to be precise) from the treatment I got a year ago. He referred me to a neuro-oncologist in Denver. Betsy renewing her wedding vows with "Fat Brian". The camera adds a couple pounds. The Air Force ultimately decided that my health was too poor and I was retired in...

The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: May 2015
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Thursday, May 28, 2015. I know I've mentioned that I spent part of my childhood in western Washington. The truth is that the majority of my youth (at least the bit I remember) was in eastern North Carolina- a booming metropolis called Plymouth. Can a town of about 4,500 people be considered a metropolis? There are several stoplights. I remember when we got our McDonalds! When we drove through there last week, we stopped at a Wendys! I was about to go pound on their front ...

The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: The Perfect Poached Egg
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-perfect-poached-egg.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Saturday, August 15, 2015. The Perfect Poached Egg. Mom taught me to make one when I was just a kid. So I've considered myself a poached egg master for as long as I can remember. However,. Mobile link: https:/ m.youtube.com/watch? There's no need for this. The yolk is perfectly fine as long as you start with a decent egg. The world needs to hear the Liebenow Method for creating poached eggs! I can see a marked difference between some free-range. Our eggs are the highest q...

The Blog of the Traveling Tubie: Jesse Jones
http://travelingtubie.blogspot.com/2014/08/jesse-jones.html
The Blog of the Traveling Tubie. Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He's got a button and I have a PEG. Otherwise we could be twins. We both like to throw our left arms around. Jesse has dedicated the rest of his life to helping others in similar circumstances: tube feeders, cancer survivors, and all those on oxygen. He runs a website called drinkyourmeals.com. I'm extremely envious of Jesse for two reasons. The first is that he has this view from his apartment in Honolulu:. Grace was ready to move in. Hey Bria...
