The correct spelling and punctuation is as written in the title of my post. There is no "s" as is commonly used today. In this phrase, "daylight-saving" is a participle. Daylight-saving time was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin during a trip abroad then brought to full light (ha) by London builder William Willett in the pamphlet, Waste of Daylight.
