The City Life.. and travels beyond: Yogyakarta
http://royalvilla.blogspot.com/2015/08/yogyakarta.html
The City Life. and travels beyond. Mish mash of travel stories, book and movie reviews and just stuff. This was a short holiday break, last just one and a half days. Our flight got in around lunch time on Friday and took off at dawn on Sunday. It turned out that this was quite enough to catch the key sights and sounds of the place. Yogyakarta (or ‘Jogja’ as the locals call it) has a tiny airport with a confusing visa payment queue. At 730 we were to catch a dance-drama about one of the episodes from the ...

The film is about an autistic child and the trauma and he and his parents undergo. The film is about a teenager's journey to be loved and admired for what he is rather then what his parents want him to be. The boy turns to be a big celebrit...

The City Life. and travels beyond. Mish mash of travel stories, book and movie reviews and just stuff. Book Update: And the year ends with. But it does not matter because I enjoyed the book thoroughly and if I am doing it the second time without recollection of the first, so much the better. Runaway is a collection of short stories, located yet again somewhere in Northern Canada in small towns. Munro’s characters grip you beautifully and keep you engaged with their little human foibles. In the library...

The City Life. and travels beyond. Mish mash of travel stories, book and movie reviews and just stuff. Day of our extended Easter break that had hitherto comprised hanging out by the pool in the mornings and walking by the beach in the evenings, we signed up for a mangrove boat tour. All that lolling around had begun to get on my nerves. I wanted a bit of action. We spent the next hour seeing the most inane sights ‘Look a crocodile’. ‘Where where? After a while I realized that the cool spray of water was...

The City Life. and travels beyond. Mish mash of travel stories, book and movie reviews and just stuff. Place – The casino at Monaco. Scene – A young couple, standing in front of the slot machines, mindful about how rich the interiors are and how suddenly their clothes seem a tad shabby. Everyone seems to be flaunting atleast one designer piece. Ten minutes later, the couple emerges from the casino, heady with their winnings at the slot machines. 8216;Get yourself a nice, designer bag’ the guy grins.

The City Life. and travels beyond. Mish mash of travel stories, book and movie reviews and just stuff. Birthday parties, here we come. Bobo was invited for two birthday parties last weekend. I was quite kicked. If someone asked me about my plans, I could finally complain ‘you know. Need to chaperone my son from one party to the next’. In the end, I had to cut short a lunch we were having with my friends in order for Bobo to make it the party. I did not feel superior when I excused myself. Just boring.
