The useful electro-optic properties of EC materials that produce darkened or lightened effect can be tailored electronically by modulating the transmittance response of the EC coatings. A small voltage is required to be applied to a EC device for the colour switching (bleaching) which will be provided by an inbuilt photovoltaic (PV) module.
