Thursday, March 26, 2009. Aunt Kathryn’s house is half empty. Three weeks after Uncle Milt left for good. She meets us at the door. As if nothing has changed. In the bedroom where he lay,. The hospital bed is made, its sheets. She has his shoes out, lined up on the floor. In pairs, stiff and curled. Tennis shoes. Black and brown dress. Shoes A pair of work boots. She hands to my father. “You take these,” she says. She considers, then sets them down on the floor again. There is a smell. To the rabbit,.

Epitome of hubris: Debunking the TND ROI myth

http://epitomeofhubris.blogspot.com/2008/12/debunking-tnd-roi-myth.html

Friday, December 5, 2008. Debunking the TND ROI myth. So why aren’t more developers building TNDs? With each new report of the popularity of neotraditional neighborhoods, why do these communities still comprise only around five percent of the total construction efforts in the U.S? Relatively higher densities in TNDs enable a lower land cost per unit. Public spaces created by traditional neighborhood planning—the trade-off that allows higher densities—also serve as substantial amenities fo...Lower up-fron...

Epitome of hubris: Christmas poem for "A Very Concrete Christmas," Dec. 13, 2008

http://epitomeofhubris.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-poem-for-very-concrete.html

Friday, December 19, 2008. Christmas poem for "A Very Concrete Christmas," Dec. 13, 2008. How about a little "poetry" today? I wrote this for my hometown's Christmas celebration, "A Very Concrete Christmas." Granted, I blurred the lines between poetry and prose with this one, but the thing is, I don't care. Enjoy. I am in the basement of Central Baptist Church in University Place, Washington, and I am surrounded by people who know more than I. Everyone brings something, but some try harder than others&#4...

Epitome of hubris: Snow day

http://epitomeofhubris.blogspot.com/2008/12/snow-day.html

Thursday, December 18, 2008. It's snowing like crazy here in Concrete, Washington. We reported 22 inches at 7 am this morning, with another 6 inches coming today. I'm tired. I've had to shovel my driveway four times in the past 24 hours. Whew. Here's a pic of one of my fence post-top birdhouses with an odd little cap of snow on it. Plus a couple other pix. Loved seeing the snow photos; we have lots of snow here as well. It's so cold out there tonight! Nice blog, any poems? December 19, 2008 at 1:08 AM.

Epitome of hubris: Blogs: The epitome of hubris

http://epitomeofhubris.blogspot.com/2008/12/i-hate-blogs.html

Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Blogs: The epitome of hubris. For me, the only appropriate way to begin this blog is with a post explaining why I hate blogs. The biggest reason, of course, is that nobody cares what I think. At least, that's my perception. And yet, even with this fact staring them in the face, several friends have told me I should blog. Do you really want that on your conscience? I know, I know. So why am I even blogging? Bookmark it. Then forget it. December 3, 2008 at 10:34 AM. December 7,...

Epitome of hubris: Bring back the Concrete Herald at www.concrete-herald.com

http://epitomeofhubris.blogspot.com/2009/02/bring-back-concrete-herald-at.html

Monday, February 9, 2009. Bring back the Concrete Herald at www.concrete-herald.com. Looks like I'm overdue to post SOMEthing here. Very well. My latest project is an attempt to bring back the Concrete Herald, my small town's newspaper from 1901 to 1991. It folded because the guy who bought it from its attentive and careful former owners was, apparently, a crook. What a shame. Concrete, WA 98237. February 9, 2009 at 6:06 PM. Goddamn This is the Epitome of Hipster

Goddamn This is the Epitome of Hipster. Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Asphalt Ribbons was the band Stuart Staples was in before he was in Tindersticks. Asphalt Ribbons are basically a stripped down version of Tindersticks, although they replace all the horns and strings with an accordion, so it's not all lost. Epitome of Kentalism

Thursday, August 27, 2009. Whose version is it anyway? If you don't know, I am sitting for this module "film and history". Every 2 weeks I am supposed to write a 500 words discussion on the film that I just watched. Since I have more than 500 words to share, I shall post my discussion on my blog then. (Since I got nothing better to blog anyway. hehe). Anw, this is a little bit about how the film goes. The Samurai’s wife on the other hand, depicted a very different picture. She was forced by the...The Sam...

The Epitome of Melancholy – by Yogiiee Bear

The Epitome of Melancholy. 2017 Entry 3: Lost in Thought. I haven’t written for a long time here. Ugh, blame my. Swear I’ll try to post more often when I am on my vacation. Okay, so this poem has been in my documents folder for a while now, and I have decided to make something out of randomly-generated words. The words are in bold. How random must I free-write eh? Everything feels so unsure. Some try to reassure. That everything is organized. But no, it is not. My blood is leaking. Love will kill me again.
