Monday, June 15, 2015. My Google Forms Idea: CFU Formative Assessments - Show What You Know Standards Review. I have been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting since my students took the CAASPP Interim Assessment and Performance Task and the CAASPP Summative Assessment and Performance Task this year. Although the Assessments were complex and rigorous, I feel that overall my students were really prepared. I am very fortunate to have 1:1 technology in my classroom and so it was important for me to also us...

In Other Words: June 2014
http://streibprojects.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2014. I think I drank 3 diet cokes after 5:00 last night. It's almost 5am and I haven't slept one minute. I've watched a lot of SVU, watched a movie on Netflix, memorized the map of Starved Rock, and I found a new place to live and work. I also talked to myself a lot. Mostly, about how to be a better mom. I'm going camping in a week at Starved Rock State Park. And guess what? There are NO CHILDREN GOING! Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Writing Prompt June 17. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. If each de...

Saturday, August 1, 2015. Creating a Growth Mindset Classroom Environment. Last summer I started designing and creating a Growth Mindset. Classroom. It is important to me that my classroom is a place where the students want to be and want to learn. I spent more time this summer thinking of ideas and creating new resources for this year. I spent a lot of time Googling and Pinteresting ideas for quotes. :o). I am so excited. Everything turned out really good. Most of my ideas are made with plain wh...Last ...

Mrs. Gibbs Flips Algebra 1: A Matter of Trust
http://mrsgibbsflipsalgebra1.blogspot.com/2016/12/trust-your-students-and-watch-them-shine.html
Mrs Gibbs Flips Algebra 1. A place for reflection as I embark on the journey to "flip" my Algebra 1 classes. Saturday, December 3, 2016. A Matter of Trust. Let me start by saying it's been a GREAT week! It's been a challenging school year to this point, and the weeks before Thanksgiving Break were a struggle. I've ended more days than I can count feeling ineffective. I admit I expected this week, as students returned from Thanksgiving and looked ahead to Christmas, to be just as challenging. Then I began...

In Other Words: October 2014
http://streibprojects.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2014. I also found out today that this therapy is super expensive, almost $2,000. I'm going to turn my cable off and eating PB and J is going to be the new norm. Tuesday, October 28, 2014. I felt like a mom yesterday for the first time in about a month. Yeah, I go to games, practices, concerts, banquets, feed them, wash their clothes, and I take the twins to school most mornings, but life hasn't felt right for awhile. Sunday, October 19, 2014. I went to Target in my pajamas tonight...

In Other Words: Back to the hotel
http://streibprojects.blogspot.com/2015/06/back-to-hotel.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Back to the hotel. So while I was running sprints at the hotel, the MLB first female pitcher commercial came on. http:/ youtu.be/4FjOXVWtES0. It froze Henry in his tracks and he gasped. He thought it was real and he got so excited. I told him that it wasn't, but it would happen one day. We talked about the girl that pitched in the little league World Series last summer. Henry remembered that she said baseball was her least favorite sport. She said she loved basketball.

http://streibprojects.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. I forgot to blog about Thanksgiving. It was a great one, so it needs a little blog space. It started with the BBC turkey trot. We were a tiny bit late so we had to walk/jog that first mile to catch up to all of our friends and my mom. BBC provides free bagels to all of the participants and the run is free, so it's a win-win. We headed out to my mom's house to watch football and celebrate. The Bears were losing so I took another nap. My brother told me that I was snoring. 3 Henr...

Tuesday, December 23, 2014. The Blogger App has a few glitches. I'm going to try and type quickly before it shuts off again. This post is from 12/24/14. I spent most of the day shopping for Christmas presents. The twins were home alone and I was a little worried about this. Henry told me that he taught Hayden how to play 5 songs on his viola and Hayden told me that he gave Henry a keyboarding lesson. They were actually teaching each other something. Pretty cool! I got to watch Elf, How The Grich Stole Ch...

Mrs. Gibbs Flips Algebra 1: Summer School Reflections
http://mrsgibbsflipsalgebra1.blogspot.com/2016/06/summer-school-reflections.html
Mrs Gibbs Flips Algebra 1. A place for reflection as I embark on the journey to "flip" my Algebra 1 classes. Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Summer School wrapped up 3 hours ago, and I've debated whether to wait a day or two before blogging, but I decided I wanted to clear my head of anything school-related for a few days, so here goes. I've taught summer school for 5 years. It's something I feel called to. It's always challenging. I read the book Number Talks Matter. I always want to work on multiplication fa...
