Saturday, October 30, 2010. Over the past few days, Sarah has been creating faces from the Usborne Big Book of Playtime Activities. Our last day of public school was June 2010. A week later we "started homeschooling". June, July, August, September, October, November, December and now January 2011. With each passing month, we've done less and less academics. I think I'm finally realizing we DO NEED a period of official deschooling. I'll document what I do on this page. Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Starting back from vacation yesterday was not a school day. Though I'm pretty happy to say that we are back into our routine which is really awesome. I thought it would take awhile. Vacation did several wonderful things for us. One of which is that the kids seem to be a little more "free and peaceful". Thursday, September 30, 2010. First year homeschool curricula-snapshot. We've really had to hone in on what's important for this first year. I've cut out A LOT of what I had planned! I was so worried we'd have tons of time on our hands, but that really isn't the case at all. Our priority is to: establish a routine and learn about God from the Bible. Math is an essential for us.
