Sandra McEwen: January 2012
http://sandramcewen.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 28, 2012. This is a large piece, so I added the wires in two stages, starting with the face and main divider lines. All those tiny scales are going to want to drift all over the place, so it's better to have everything else already fired in place first. It looks like a lot of gold now, but ultimately, it's going to be a red dragon. I used a foundation of 24K gold leaf so the reds will be as brilliant as possible. Links to this post. Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Happy Year of the Dragon!

Sandra McEwen: August 2012
http://sandramcewen.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 9, 2012. Man, if I could afford it, I would do all my wires in 24K gold. It's like working with pure magic. Seriously, this is $300 worth of gold in my hand. So I warmed up with a pair of earrings. These will be ruby red. Then moved on to a large Griffon Necklace. I've got some silver wire to bend tom morrow, but hopefully I'll be able to start enameling these this weekend. Links to this post. Thursday, August 2, 2012. Bending wires this week! I like to warm up with the easy ones:.

Sandra McEwen: "Bright Wing Tiara"
http://sandramcewen.blogspot.com/2013/07/bright-wing-tiara.html
Saturday, July 6, 2013. This is my very first tiara. I can't believe it took me this long to make a tiara, and now that I've made one, there will be many more to follow. My design was fairly simple, just pretty angel wings with a heart shaped filigree centerpiece. I used fine silver wires, but added 24k gold wire circle accents. Just for fun! My color palate was shades of baby blues and opal whites. Why make just one? I'm making a whole wedding party! July 7, 2013 at 10:23 PM. July 8, 2013 at 8:35 AM.
