Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: 1.21 Giggawatts
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2012/02/121-giggawatts.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Along with that book, I also found John Long' and Jim Bridwell's autobiographies. Rad. Bouldering is interesting enough and it's definitely forcing some thinking on my climbing style. Especially when I can muscle through a handful of V5s, but then get shot down on V2s left and right because I cannot finesse my way through the delicate moves. I need a job eventually, right? Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: July 2010
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Monday, July 26, 2010. I have a short term goal: climb and write. How about a long term goal? Long term goal: don't die. How about a photo dump:. The Cirque de Towers in the Wind River Range. El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite Valley. The Grand Tetons in Wyoming. That took about a week to figure out. Now, the hard part: how do I accomplish that long term goal? And still pay off my unpleasant college loans? Monday, July 12, 2010. Joe and t...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: One Year Later
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2011/06/one-year-later.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Wednesday, June 15, 2011. It turns out that today, exactly one year ago, Chris Deck and I left his home in Buffalo, NY at 6am to make the Early Bird Special at Amy's Place diner. Promptly after finishing breakfast, we began out nine-hour trek to Slade, KY to climb in the Red River Gorge. Holy fuck, what am I thinking. After some deliberation I decided to keep going at it. I met Al last year as well. Despite our (mostly mine) foolishness...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: September 2010
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Thursday, September 30, 2010. I've gone back and reread some of my older posts. My writing, though improving more as I wirte, is still shy of what I think is "good.". If my writing ever seems rushed, that's because it is. I've been living out of my tent, when I have internet access I don't wan't to spend my time updating, and so I force out some tid-bit or story without ever proof-reading. Nor am I aiming for beautiful prose. Even though I'...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: Hometown Crags
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2011/02/hometown-crags.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Saturday, February 5, 2011. I tell people that Syracuse is a climbing dead-zone. The closest climbing is in a gym about and 1.5 hours west in Rochester. Outdoors? 3 hours to the Gunks, or 3.5 hours to the 'Daks. Is it any wonder why I don't want to be here? While floating around Kentucky, I flipped through Eric Chastang's copy of Rock 'n Road. Surprisingly, there was a star right over Syracuse on the map of NY. Then Tim most likely went to ...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: November 2010
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Thursday, November 11, 2010. A Double-Post Sort of Day. I realize that I haven't posted anything about climbing in a while. That's probably because I don't care to share my achievements (or lack thereof) often. I' m at the point where my success is mine, not one I want to expel to be gratified by others. After working the route nearly the entire summer,. Chainsaw Massacre (5.12a). Girls Gone Wild . . . Woo! And now, since I dominated. Is on...

Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: Suffocating at Elevation
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2012/05/suffocating-at-elevation.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Did I mention that I'm in Boulder, Colorado now? Probably not. But anyways, here I am in another public library, wondering when I'll start getting paychecks from the job that I don't have yet. Yeah, I need one. About the Flatirons: When I arrived in Boulder late Sunday evening I met up with Eric Chastang. He insisted that we go free-solo an 800 ft route named Freeway. It was pretty bad-ass. Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing: October 2010
http://readingwritingrockclimbing.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Reading, Writing, Rock Climbing. A blog about climbing and life. Monday, October 18, 2010. I drive 55 mph when the speed limit is 70 mph. Why? Because I'm too cheap to waste the gas. But what has come of driving at a speed which a "normal" person would consider "slow? Especially for a 22 year old. While cruising at that meditative speed, I think I've come to some truth about patience, and only after yesterday did I realize fully how important it is to move slowly, to not be in a rush. I thought to m self,.
