The Many Adventures of the Schafer's. Russ, Brie, and Little Rusty. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. My, Oh, My! It's the 4th of July! Well, it WAS the 4th of July a few weeks ago. What an adventure this 4th of July was! Plus, Russ couldn't go because he had so much to do here with school and work, so help with Rusty wasn't ideal. And then, to make matters worse, my front passenger side tire completely blew [up] just outside of Baker, OR (which I hear is a death trap! I mean, REALLY? Here comes another good story:.

Saturday, August 27, 2011. Miracles do happen and prayers are answered. It's hard to believe that transplant day has already come and gone! And, Jacob slept too! I should have been sleeping with them, but I don't even know where the time went. Typical.some things never change. There is sooo much I want to say, so much to tell, but I better start by saying that the transplant went perfectly and both boys are doing great! Children's Oncology Group ASCT0631D:. Monday, March 25, 2013. Jake IS Standing Tall TODAY! After a year long battle with cancer Jake Griggs passed away last night from double pneumonia just after being life flighted to Primary Children's Hospital. We pray for comfort, peace, and blessings to be with Griggs family at this time. Godspeed Jake Griggs. You ARE. A remarkable young man! You fought a hard fight and were an example to many. Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Pathology Report - Disappointing News. Wednesday, August 15, 2012. On Friday Dr. Wright called and said they got the pathology report back on Jake's leg. The tumor didn't respond like they had hoped. Only 30% of the tumor had died. They were hoping for more like 90%. As far as the prosthetic's go, the last visit with Dr. Scott, which was on the 15th of November he clear Jake to be measured for his prosthetic. Friday, January 4, 2013. Friday, January 4, 2013. We arrived back to Primary Children's Hosptial on Wednesday to start the 5 day regimen of Ifosfamide and Etoposide. We started at 9 pm on Wednesday night and if he handles it well we can progress 3 hours the next day. Jake was sick and throwing up on the first night but by the time early afternoon came he was a little better so the started chemo at 6 pm on Thursday. They both have the flu. Monday, February 25, 2013. Jake and the BYU Basketball Team! Jake was gifted a c. Brandon Davies and Tyler Hawes with Jake. Here is another picture of Jake with Brandon and Tyler with Kristain and Britton. The man on the right leaning on the wall is Cody. He set this all up for Jake.
