Eric Pritz: November 2009

http://www.ericpritz.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Is a middle school social studies teacher. He believes that writing is the ultimate technological learning tool. Sunday, November 22, 2009. Thinking in the Air. The National Writing Project in Philly was worthwhile, but not for the reasons that I expected. The most valuable part of the gathering was not the workshops or the keynote speaker, but the conversations with people. The conversations I had at the NWP were prompted as well. Someone may have asked, “What did you think of that workshop? I bought in...

Eric Pritz: We’re Off to See the Wizard

http://www.ericpritz.blogspot.com/2010/01/were-off-to-see-wizard.html

Is a middle school social studies teacher. He believes that writing is the ultimate technological learning tool. Friday, January 15, 2010. We’re Off to See the Wizard. I could have stayed there, but my team teacher of English wasn’t satisfied. She wanted to turn the I-Search into a combined English and Social Studies writing project. She wanted to help them write creative non-fiction stories, whatever that was. Refusal of the Call. Crossing the First Threshold. Imagine a bunch of 7th graders whistling &#...

Eric Pritz: December 2009

Is a middle school social studies teacher. He believes that writing is the ultimate technological learning tool. Monday, December 21, 2009. A photo of a herdsman. I can see his breath. As he crouches by a fire. And warms his fingers. Meet and talk nearby. I think of the cost. In lives, energy, money. To make this meeting. Of power, religion, war. Where so much desire. Has descended upon one. Man warming his hands. And I aren't so far apart. We want the same thing. The peace that comes with.

Is a middle school social studies teacher. He believes that writing is the ultimate technological learning tool. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. I Am Not A Control Freak. Today, my students sit at their desks, read 12 pages of a textbook and take notes. It is very quiet. I do a lot in my classroom as well. I also have students read and write in class. When I do, kids sit in their seats and read or write for a sustained period of time, quietly. I’m back. Here are the comments. 8220;It’s interesting&#...
