Monday, March 8, 2010. Spring Has Left.It Is Hot Now. The Great News: 40ish days left! Spring did arrive, did its business, then just up and left. Well, I suppose it was either this or to say that there was no winter. You could also say that Iraq had a mild winter with a two week spring and an explosive beginning to the summer. Watching the sunrise beside the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse was one of my favorite memories in 2017. This was my very first helicopter ride. We were “open door” and it was spectacular! This was an early morning shot at North Ave. Pier and my wife “modeled” for me. The view from the 95th floor of the Hancock is special and I got a chance to sleep-over (no sleep was had) in 2017. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Back, Home, Alive and In One Piece. I guess leaving Iraq and Kuwait had a few hiccups, but overall it was smooth. I did not lose any of my bags. I was able to stop in Ireland as the plane refueled. Fortunately, I missed the Icelandic volcano eruption by a week. Some of the units leaving Iraq were delayed because of this.
