Erin's Big Bad Blog: The Quest for Constructivism

http://erinblevine.blogspot.com/2008/07/quest-for-constructivism.html

Erin's Big Bad Blog. My reflections and experiences on my online class. Monday, July 21, 2008. The Quest for Constructivism. I scored high on the constructivist philosophy quiz, so I was looking forward to completing more research on the theory. My job was to report on the history of Constructivism and speak about the "founding fathers." I didn't realize that Constructivism has been around since the time of Socrates! For something to be so steeped in history, it has to have merrit. Posted by Erin Levine.

Erin's Big Bad Blog: Can't hide these grades!

http://erinblevine.blogspot.com/2008/07/cant-hide-these-grades.html

Erin's Big Bad Blog. My reflections and experiences on my online class. Sunday, July 20, 2008. Can't hide these grades! Gone are the days of hiding grades from parents. No more taking a red pen to make an F an A, or at least a modest B. The days of rushing to the mailbox to get your report card first are over. I went on Engrade. And opened an account. I chose Engrade. Because the site looked friendlier than gradekeeper. Parents can send the teacher messages from the site. It's safe and secure. Parents/gu...

Erin's Big Bad Blog: Jumping through hoops and falling into NETS-S

http://erinblevine.blogspot.com/2008/07/jumping-through-hoops-and-falling-into.html

Erin's Big Bad Blog. My reflections and experiences on my online class. Tuesday, July 8, 2008. Jumping through hoops and falling into NETS-S. I love how the NETS-S have students use higher level thinking skills to create and evaluate. These standards allow students to realize that there is more than one way to solve a problem, an idea that is rarely taught in schools. Posted by Erin Levine. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Erin's Big Bad Blog. My reflections and experiences on my online class. Monday, July 14, 2008. Open your book to page. The D, the I, the G, the I, the T, the A the L.Digital. So, the song "Bobby Digital" came to mind when I read about digital books on the techlearning. Website. Another thought came to the front of my mind as well. If e-books are the way of the future, how will all students be able to afford them? How can these students benefit from electronic text? Will they have to use a friend's house?

Erin's Big Bad Blog: July 2008

http://erinblevine.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Erin's Big Bad Blog. My reflections and experiences on my online class. Saturday, July 26, 2008. Now that this course is wrapping up I've committed to the following:. Use the computer lab (Mouse House) more often to create puzzles, listen to podcasts, blog, chat, wiki, visit the wide variety of websites I've bookmarked, watch videos, create videos. Use my classroom computers more often, and not just during snack time. Create newsletters for each topic of study, or at least once a marking period. Just go ...

My name is Erin, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. I majored in Plan II Honors. An interdisciplinary program offered by UT's College of Liberal Arts typically described as a "renaissance education." For me, this meant that I had the opportunity to take classes in a wide variety of subjects. I also completed certificates from UT's Elements of Computing Program. As well as the Bridging Disciplines Program in Digital Arts and Media. I've worked on several projects that I'm rea...

Erin Alise Blitz - Blitzcraft. I’ve always been drawn to geometric figures and visual repetition, and my glass work is no exception. Since discovering kiln-formed glass, I have found it to be the best medium for expressing my love of pattern while creating unique works that I find challenging. Working with fused and kiln-formed glass gives me the opportunity to experiment with endless possibilities. I enjoy the process; the step by step progression of building a work of art. I. Erin's Blog Log

Sunday, December 1, 2013. A field trip taken with Jason's cousin's kids, who also homeschool. Obviously Levi already reads, and he loves it. But Dana doesn't read. I know she CAN read. I know she has the ability. But she's not asking, she's not wanting to. I read to her lots, and she loves it. Do I DARE wait until she is 6 or 7 and/or asking? How good of an education are they getting? Then again, Dana shouldn't read music before she reads words. Is she developmentally not ready for piano? I just love this.
