Erin Go Paint: May 2014
http://eringopaint.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 29, 2014. A Conversation with my Youngest Art Collector. Last night I met with a collector who was purchasing "Mothers. Past, Present, Future" and my 8 year daughter was along for the meeting. She listened to our conversation about art, Moms, parenting, loss, life and age-old friendships. She also watched me like a hawk when she saw me tear up as we were saying goodbye - to the collector and to the piece. Mom, how can you sell a painting you love if it makes you sad to let it leave? Vintage...
Erin Go Paint: Summer Camping
http://eringopaint.blogspot.com/2014/08/summer-camping.html
Monday, August 25, 2014. Recently we returned from a beautiful fun-filled camping trip. It's been a crazy summer with too much going on and I hadn't really felt relaxed since school got out. But put me in the mountains with. Warm sunny afternoons by the pool. Cold evenings by the campfire toasting marshmallows. Full bodied red wine (yes, red wine even while camping). And I actually started to unwind! Because there is n. Summer Sketchbook, "Leaves", watercolor and ink, Erin Rogers Pickering. View my compl...

Erin Go Paint: Learning from a Master, John Singer Sargent
http://eringopaint.blogspot.com/2014/09/learning-from-master-john-singer-sargent.html
Thursday, September 25, 2014. Learning from a Master, John Singer Sargent. If you could meet anyone from the past, no matter how long gone, who would you choose to have dinner with? A popular, get-to-know-you kind of interview question. Your answer can be very telling on what is important to you. If I could pick anyone. From the past, it would hands down be my Mom, but if I was to choose an artist specifically, it would be John Singer Sargent or Van Gogh. What could I learn? The process was actually very...

The Gluten Free Illustrator: Gloriously Gluten Free Hot Artichoke Dip
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2015/07/gloriously-gluten-free-hot-artichoke-dip.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. Gloriously Gluten Free Hot Artichoke Dip. Our car limped into the car repair shop as they were closing up on Friday afternoon. And, so it sits there for the weekend, grounding us. Not that it flies or anything, but grounding us in the sense of sticking close to home, and taking care of things on foot. As she was grated the Parmesan she said she was so very happy at that moment. That is the best comment ever. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Let set for 5 minutes before eating. View my c...

The Gluten Free Illustrator: July 2014
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 10, 2014. From the July/August issue of Simply Gluten Free Magazine. Frozen strawberries on a brutally hot day! An ideal treat. Lucky I had some leftover from a recent assignment at Simply Gluten Free Magazine. It's been really hot by us, and truth be told - I have been melting. Finding these ruby red, icy cold beauties in my freezer was a score! And, they make a terrific starting point for a refreshing smoothie. Friday, July 4, 2014. 4 Bake for 40-45 minutes at 375 degrees. The Gluten Free Illustrator: An Apple a Day
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2015/06/an-apple-day.html
Saturday, June 20, 2015. An Apple a Day. An Apple a day. It's been too long, a wild and crazy few months. and I am searching for my voice again. So I am starting with something basic like the apple. Seemingly so simple, so simple they are easy to overlook. But the varieties available are almost endless - and they pack a super healthy punch. Even without the skin, which I still can not digest well, it's like a crunchy, sweet, juicy vitamin. You can see more of my art here. ErinGoPaint. Follow me on Twitter.

The Gluten Free Illustrator: Lemon and Ginger for what 'ales' you
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2015/06/lemon-and-ginger-for-what-ales-you.html
Monday, June 22, 2015. Lemon and Ginger for what 'ales' you. Last night I was up in the middle of the night because of an accidental gluten ingestion. Was it the chips marked GF or the Tamari marked GF? Not sure but neither consideration makes me happy. Nor does it make me feel safe about labeling and supposedly safe food production. I will approach each with caution, or most likely avoidance! First and foremost - a lot of water. And time. plenty of time. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). An Apple a Day.

Thursday, October 30, 2014. GF Crustless Spinach Quiche. And a crustless version is a lovely and simple way to whip up a brunch. Or a perfect make ahead breakfast, just grab a slice and reheat. I found this recipe for crustless spinach quiche on Allrecipes.com. And I tweaked it a bit. using. Cheddar in place of muenster cheese as I was looking for bigger/bolder flavor. The Gluten Free Illustrator: April 2014
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 24, 2014. Home brewed cold remedy. I had been burning the candle at both ends recently even though I know it never bodes well. But I was juggling a few part time gigs, and commissions, and they dovetailed and all came due in the same week, so I did what I had to. And got it done. Unfortunately, sleep and self care lost priority. And, then Easter arrived, hosting the families, and the party of 20 was a lovely, fun and happy day! Like water (lots of it! And my new favorite. The first few we...

The Gluten Free Illustrator: January 2014
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Growing fresh scallions through the winter. January in New Jersey is kind of a colorless time. Everything is awash in a murky shade of gray. Lots and lots of grays and washed out browns. Not very inspiring for my color seeking eyes! But, now I have vegetables growing in my kitchen through the dead of the winter! Bringing life, light and bright color into the house - not to mention saving a few dollars. A simple trick I learned from my fabulous sister-in-law. Chop, cook, enjoy!

The Gluten Free Illustrator: Plank, Pain and Perspective
http://theglutenfreeillustrator.blogspot.com/2015/06/plank-and-perspective.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Plank, Pain and Perspective. Last night at 2am I was jolted awake from a deep sleep by a searing pain. Like fire shooting down my right side. It was so intense and immediate, I jumped out of bed - which seemed to make it worse. My assumption of course was digestive. As a celiac that is always the first thought. "What did I eat? But my immediate list of reliefs. bathroom, drinking water, ginger chews did nothing to relieve the ricocheting pain. Or was it my intestines? And there it ...

Going Bamboo
This is a transcription of my journal during my time in Vietnam, doing community service through the DukeEngage program. My posts may come at odd times because of my inconsistent internet connection, but I trust you all will forgive me. Xin chao. Thursday, May 20, 2010. Vietnam Day 65 (8/12/09). It’s a challenge to remember to say, “thank you” and “I’m sorry” because “camon” and “xin loi” have become so instinctual. My cousin already sent me a text simply asking, “how was Vietnam? Vietnam Day 64 (8/11/09).

Any Given Moment... | Every day is a leap of faith.
Any Given Moment…. Every day is a leap of faith. On the Road Again. August 2, 2012. Well, clearly I have been a TERRIBLE blogger. Since the half marathon, I have not written a post and I really don’t have any excuse other than “things have been really busy”. (Not a good enough reason…). Side note: Airports allow for some fascinating people watching. Seriously. The Color Run was a massive party of “running” with strangers – it was also the first time I ran with Andrew and seemed to get h...And I signed up...

Keeping up with the Jones'. Where love and benign neglect abound. Sunday, April 28, 2013. Caitlin at Washington State Solo and Ensemble Yesterday. Caitlin did really well at State yesterday. She won the undying admiration of her dad and received a I and two II's for her scores. Not too shabby for her freshman debut on the State Solo and Ensemble circuit. I think I'll sign her up for American Idol. Sunday, February 5, 2012. Connor and Caitlin at Solo and Ensemble. Sunday, April 17, 2011. Just was we finis...
