Optimism isn't dumb. — Think Big, live small
http://www.erinketheridge.com/blog/optimism
January 08, 2017. Don't think. Just be! This mantra, from the mouth of a crazy person on a crazy TV show, has opened new worlds to me in the realm of baking. I’m a fairly happy, optimistic person. Unfortunately, in contemporary culture, I've only really found happy optimism in self-help gurus (who are by and large annoying) and whackadoodles (i.e. have lost touch with reality, like Peggy in. There have got to be more of us regular person optimists out there, right? Optimism, a history. Well, they taught ...
33 — Think Big, live small
http://www.erinketheridge.com/blog/2016/8/17/33
This is me and Noah on our 12th anniversary, two days before my birthday. Look how young I was! Still just a fresh, naive 32-year-old! August 17, 2016. A little over a week ago, I turned 33. Half my lifetime ago I would've been about 17, and the thought of 33 would've had me breathing into a paper bag. Kind of how I feel about 50 now. One sec. Okay, now that the panic has slightly subsided, back to the post. Oh, no biggie. It’s just my Jesus Age Party. Whatever. ). Or as Noah put it, you’re old enough to...

http://www.erinketheridge.com/recommened-reading
Let's talk about books! I'm a big fan of lifelong learning. The best (and cheapest) way to do that? Reading, of course! Every month I compile a list of my favorite reads from the past few weeks in Recommended Reading posts. You can find all of the books from every post right here. If you do read any of my faves or have a must-read recommendation you're dying to pass along drop me a line and let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts. Set in the 60s and the 90s,. Feels remarkably relevant for our time.

How I deal with life-and-death failure — Think Big, live small
http://www.erinketheridge.com/blog/2016/9/12/how-to-deal-with-failure
How I deal with life-and-death failure. September 13, 2016. If you're not sure whether you suffer from control delusions, start a garden. Farm animals? They're right out. Attempting to get involved with the life cycle whether plant or animal will quickly teach you a key truth: you are virtually powerless. Your hand in the process is merely tinkering at best, or interference at worst. The point is, more bunnies have died. A day later, the second little black bunny died. It, too, was smaller. At su...This ...

Monday, July 27, 2015. We went to the Franklin Farmers Market Saturday morning (and stopped by The Peach Truck). We also went to a birthday party for our next door neighbors Lily and Kaylee, ate dinner with Laurie at Chuy's and picked up a few things for our beach trip (I went to 4 different Targets). What's in the morning? Is a question Lilly asks on a regular basis. And the answer is always one of three things: school, church or home. She likes to be in the know. I can respect that. You didn't get me t...

Monday, August 3, 2015. It's been a while, too long, but we got to hang out with Matt and Sara Jo Saturday evening. The girls love going to Cole and Savannah's house! We played outside (chronicled below) and inside, talked (a lot) and enjoyed a delicious meal: steak, hot dogs (for the kids), baked potatoes, corn on the cob and sautéed vegetables. It was what we had unknowingly been missing all summer. Better late than never! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. The Best Of Oregon.

Now you know how awkward I was as a child. I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY, INTERNET. Rather bizarrely, I spent a large portion of my childhood thinking about wood. Because I was stacking wood. And throw another log on (ash, oak, hickory.). Why did those specific types of wood create more heat? Why did they make a better fire? The good things in life.
