the blog of Illustrator Erin Sherman: 12.11
http://erinsherman.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
This has become my favorite part of our week between Christmas and NewYear's :). All 4 of us do it quite easily this way: begin by building a structure with old cartons. Boxes Then stick graham crackers. Onto cartons with frosting (below). (Mine in foreground is an elbox pasta box laid down with a mini cereal box on top of it.). Gotta have waffle-shaped square pretzels. For windows. Icecream cones. Both triangular cones and classic cones. Good variety of sizes and shapes of candy. Above: 7yo, below: mine.

I asked a friend of mine what her favorite verse is and she said it is Philippians 4:13. I also asked her what hymn is her favorite, and she replied: "Great is Thy Faithfulness." That hymn is beneath the black paint, although it is hard to see. My friend also recently re-decorated using a lot of distressed black. Today is her birthday and this is for her! I draw the drawing with pencil, then color it digitally, mixed media) It includes the Scripture: "He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Have a merry Christmas! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. View my work here. New Christmas Card illustration!
the blog of Illustrator Erin Sherman: Winter arrangements

It's always fun to switch certain decorations in each new season. Putting away my Christmas stuff finally, I arranged new Winter decor- snowflakes and frosted pine cones a necessity. Idea this year: pussywillows in the water jar around river rocks. Wouldn't it be fun to be an artistic florist? The picture in the frame above is:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). She told me the other day that an alien hides under her bed. I just responded "I don't know how he can fit under there. With all the games! Without skipping a beat, she surprised me by replying that:. He can fit under there because a special vacuum sucks all the air out of the alien and makes him so flat.". Posted by Erin Sherman.

TheSquirrel's I.F.s. A 6-year-old's hand at IllustrationFriday.com. Comments welcome! Saturday, November 13, 2010. TheSquirrel is 6 years old. Upon learning that this week's word is "burning," she knew just what she would draw. The funniest part is this:. She said to me as she drew it, "My mouth is open because I [in the drawing] am eating a sandwich. Just so you know.". So I laughed, wondering what eating a sandwich had to do with a fire, and I asked her, "Oh. So why are you eating a sandwich?
