laptop in a prada: November 2006

Wednesday, November 22, 2006. 1 Dealing with losers. The reason I like hanging out with my college friends is because they are all successful. They are at the top of their careers, are financially-secure, and have hobbies outside of work/regular coffee dates. Successful friends DON’T NEED ANYTHING FROM ME. We hang out because we want to. The thing with these ver-ee uh-noi-ing uhn-suhk-ses-fuhl fr nds is that they make me feel guilty. What should I do? 2 The empire grows. It’s the end of the year, which f...

Saturday, July 22, 2006. Older than i was. In celebration of our fifth anniversary, MSP and I set out to do something very adult we ate in an authentic Italian restaurant and had rare cheeses and wine. This is actually the second leg of our three-month-long celebration. In the first month we also tried to be adults by eating foie gras. Nothing special, I tell you. I’m glad some states have banned it. And then I see Paris Hilton, and I realize I’m just a hardworking girl and I deserve my designer shit.

Friday, June 30, 2006. It’s always about money. I have a relative who only talks to me to borrow money. She does not even call to say hello or to ask me how I am. She assumes I could just give money away because I own a company. I do not even buy new shoes for myself, woman! Can I say no? NO That’s not an option. She’s the closest family I have, aside from my dad. Everyone else is a country away. I feel like I’m buying her love. This is why people go to Ireland and become hermits. Thursday, June 22, 2006.

Saturday, February 25, 2006. Random act of kindness (part 1). We’ve been so lucky, so we thought of sharing our luck to others who are less fortunate by doing one random act of kindness every month, for as long as our finances enable us to. I know it’s very cheesy and so unlikely of a Mussolini, but what can I say? The whole pretend-fascist attitude is getting old now that I am older. NOTE TO JUDGMENTAL PEOPLE:. Why the hell am I writing about this when charity should never be publicized? The next random...

The past week has been nothing short of hell for me MSP got hospitalized so I had to run the company all by myself. I don’t even think I slept I had to make sales calls one minute, call a staff meeting the next, email clients, etc. Even at home, I worked. In the bathroom, I worked. On the breakfast table, I worked. Posted by Ingrid C. at 9:52 AM. View my complete profile.

Sunday, October 22, 2006. Some retard from college said this to my face:. It disappoints me that you bask in this materially-driven yuppie lifestyle. Your fancy car, your upscale house they will never make you happy. Well here’s my message to you, FUCKTOID. I don’t hassle you for choosing to be an under-achiever, sitting back and watching the world ACTUALLY WORK while thinking of the next non-profundity to throw at people like me. And about my fancy car which you so despise. So what if I’m Puritan? Hard ...

Tuesday, May 30, 2006. The high point of my day. MSP is sick today and did not go to work. He says he would be here in the afternoon so we could together do the payroll for the team (I call them 'team,' he calls them 'employees.' He's stuck in the 50's.). Meanwhile I am eating lunch alone. Thank god. Lunch courtesy of the nice lady who runs a convenience/food store downstairs. A bowl of rice with meat and vegetable toppings -. This cost me only $1. Posted by Ingrid C. at 12:24 PM. Friday, March 31, 2006. The view from my 25-sqft office. Part of MSP's office (bigger than mine but without a view). Our first meal in the office (on the menu: greentea frappucino from starbucks, tuna and chicken turnovers from the french baker). Posted by Ingrid C. at 9:09 AM. Saturday, March 25, 2006. Oh, and in a dream I realized that I need new sneakers. I've never had sneakers, actually. But watching ELLEN. Makes me think I should wear one. I'm such a tomboy. Posted by Ingrid C. at 9:25 AM. Saturday, April 22, 2006. Gone for a day. We treated ourselves to a nice dinner of deli, seared abalone, lamb, and apricot cake in a hotel-restaurant overlooking the pretentious part of this city. I take lousy pictures with my oversized Nokia. I want to feel proud of myself again. Nowadays, no matter what ‘achievement’ I accomplish or impossibility I make possible, I do not feel any sense of pride. I want to be the heartless, stuck-up fucker I was born to be (again). Waits 5 seconds and snaps fingers*.
